There is a huge range of products and prices for a car battery charger, some are flimsy and some excessive. What I like about this unit is it’s sturdy construction and sensible dial. The dial tells you how much charge the battery is taking and the instructions tell you how to interpret the dial to know when it is taking charge and when it is full. I only use it once a year (autumn solstice) but it gives the battery a full charge ready for winter doing the job well at a reasonable price.

Very good charger I use it to charge my Motorbike battery because I dont ride it very often. I stick it on charger for a few hours and you can go out riding with out worrying about it going flat and when you have time to give it a full charge, You can switch the charger of at intervals to see the voltage of the batter so you know when it is fully charged.

Not used yet but a good price and compact unit for diy use.

this charged the flat battery in my husband's old Merc in a matter of hours and performed much better than his previous charger which was much bigger and slower. Recommended!

It seems to do the job, but... the meter shows volts, not amps (to be fair the picture does show "V" so I should have picked it up) - usually current is shown on chargers - the more current being drawn, the flatter the battery. With no battery connected, but the charger switched on, the dial reads 12V; with battery connected, but charger switched off, the meter appears to show battery voltage, but oddly, when switched on, the reading jumps up slightly (even if battery is sub 12V). Also the charger gets very warm - much more than any other charger I've got - I use is outside as wouldn't feel happy about it unattended in a shed, but may be being over cautious.

Not sure about 'heavy duty'. Level does not seem to vary much whatever the battery condition is. Does charge though. EDIT. It has turned out not to work at all after using about 3 times.

This is my second review. I used this once Dec 2016. The battery worked perfectly. I tired to use it again dec2017 to charge my camper battery again, it wouldn’t work at all. So all in all I used it once!I contacted the seller, they replied : unfortunately this is out of worrenty. I know it but after a single use! Disappointed.Two star not one because it worked once
