This is an excellent toy and makes an excellent gift for kids above the stated age on the box. The only issue with this item is that the previous version of the toy is still being sold and it’s defective! This version is water proof and the box will state that it’s water proof and safe for your kid to be in the water with the toy. Waaaaaaait a minute, so the previous version people complained water was leaking into the compartments and it was breaking. Okay, then they come out with a new version and advertise that it is now safe for your child to play with while sitting in the body of water with the toy. So the other toy was never safe. The other version that was made for water wasn’t safe in the water and there was a possible electrocution hazard because it is not water proof. Why is it still being sold? Make sure the version that you purchase says new, water proof and safe.

This was the best Christmas gift I bought this year, and I bought a lot! It looks cool right out of the box! It has a remote controller and it swims all over and sprays water which looks blue because of the light it has. All the kids wanted one after they saw it! If you're thinking about buying one don't...Buy two or three!!!

good item, it works but was a LOT smaller than i expected. that’s my fault for not looking but just a heads up

I was really excited for this toy for my son. I read the reviews about the tail breaking, so I told my son that we had to be very gentle with the toy and to only use/play with it supervisesed. We were using them remote control to drive it, it bumped into the side of our plastic pool and then tail broke off.... At first I thought it just detached but when I went to reattach it, I notice it was broken. Just by bumping Into the side. So when people say IT BRAKES EASILY, they mean that IT BREAKS VERY EASILY. So disappointed.UPDATE: it's been 30 minutes since I posted my review and the toy got bumped off our counter onto the floor and broke in another place on the tail. So now I have three broken pieces. My son is so sad and I don't think it's salvageable even with mommas special hot glue gun. We were so excited for this toy and my son saved up money all summer to buy this. It's just so unfortunate that it only lasted a day.

I got this for my son for Christmas and by May the remote was broken. He used it in the pool and the bathtub. The return window was closed but I contacted the seller to see if I could get a new remote. After a few emails I received a completely new toy at no charge! Amazing customer service. As far as the mosasaur toy, my son really likes it. I would purchase it again.

This toy is really cool and works well (so far). But I was a bit disappointed to see the controller looks a bit beat up. Definitely doesn’t look brand new.

So it worked great for about 3 uses and then it decided to get furry level possessed and screech continuously even though the remote was off and then we took the battery out and it screeched for a few more minutes before it finally silenced. So... yeah, whatever the takeaway from that is, hope this helps.
