I can say with confidence that this Wordsworth publication is the best basic collection for a few reasons It is inexpensive and printed on decent enough quality paper; It has a good introduction and notes from Bruce Woodcock, who also gives very helpful introductions throughout. There is a substantial selection of poetry, including Poetical Sketches, Songs of Innocence and Experience, Marriage of Heaven and Hell [mostly prose but usually included in selections] and a great selection of poems from Blake’s Notebook e.g. from 1793, ‘Never seek to tell thy love’, ‘To my myrtle’ and many others and from part 2 1801-3, ‘ Mock on, Mock on’, ‘ My spectre around me night and day’ and others. There are also some of the very short jottings and fragments from part 3. And poems from The Pickering ms like ‘The Mental Traveller,’’ The Crystal Cabinet’. Then to the more adventurous ‘prophetic’ works and good selections from Milton, Jerusalem and the others with several of the shorter works complete. This volume gives all the Basic Blake and great helpings o f his more challenging works and is highly recommended. Review: Good collection - Another one for my granddaughter. She loves it. Very good price as well

This is a great little collection. Its small enough to pop into my handbag. This is not a complete collection but it would make a good starter if you weren't sure about you level of interest in Blake's work or wanted a small collection to interest a newbie.

I won’t get into technicalities — there are surely people more knowledgeable than I am — but I want to share the profound experience this book has given me. After quickly reading a couple of poems to see whether I could handle the English of that time, I jumped straight to “On Friends and Foes.” by chance! Seeing how something I had realized over years of life experience had been so brilliantly expressed in verse, and even set to rhyme, completely disarmed me and gave me much to reflect upon. For a brief moment, I found myself defenseless before the author’s genius, reconsidering some personal relationships. William managed to condense a tremendously complex concept while keeping it strikingly effective. That’s what I call elegance: saying just enough, without sacrificing either beauty or substance. For a few days, I didn’t want to read anything else, giving myself time to meditate deeply on the experience it had offered me. Sublime, I definetly love it! It's always me, Owska!

Fellow Readers, The book itself (selection of poetry) was perfect. The book's physical condition was excellent and the delivery was very fast. I am so grateful for this "used book" service available to all of us. Kate Greene
