So easy to use it almost confusing.
6V and 12V Car Battery Charger, 15A Smart Battery Trickle Charger Maintainer is very easy to use. That is really good because the instructions are almost pure nonsense. Yes the instructions speak about each part of the unit, but they do a poor job of conveying any helpful instructions that I finally just hooked it up to my battery and hoped for the best. And the best is what I got. This unit seems to be able to tell the difference between 6V and 12V batteries and chooses the right one on its own. The only switch on it is between motorcycle and auto, but I am confused why that is even there. I inadvertently had it set for motorcycle the first time I used it on a car, and it worked just fine on the car.No idea how long it will last, or what might cause it to fail but if it stays working it was a tremendous value. I already got my moneys worth out of it. Don't bother with the instructions, but you can get this unit because its cheap compared to other chargers.

This charger did what my old float charger couldn't.
This charger seems to have de-sulphated my motorcycle battery very quickly. I had been using a float charger for months without reaching a full charge. This charger indicated that my battery was completely charged in two or three days, and when I switched back to the old one to check, it agreed.

Poor quality
Poor quality. Instructions manual poorly done.

Cheap yet works flawlessly
Does 6v, & 12v. Auto charges, trickle charges, boost for jump start! Love this unit. Would certainly recommend and would purchase again!

Pulse Charger, current adjusts, display indicates charging rate no battery charge level
This has a lot of features for the price. The switching between a 6V and a 12V battery is done automatically. If the voltage is below 8V, the charger can not recognize the battery as 12V. It is also a pulse charger and has automatically variable modes depending on the condition of the battery. One of the modes is a maintenance mode.I tested this with a good battery and the charger indicated a charging level of 75%, at least that indicator was flashing. According to the instructions, the 4 indicators of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% indicate the charging rate of the charger not the current level of charge of the battery. I measured the current with an ammeter, and measured a peak of about 4.5-5.0 amps during my test. The value was continuously oscillating between close to 0 and this maximum. This is about what I would expect with a pulse charger. The current is also in the ballpark of what I would expect since this was a good battery. I'm not sure what the flashing of the 75% means; could mean it was in the ball park of between 50 and 75% as opposed to being 75%.Sometimes when a charger is quoted as having a certain maximum current, that applies to the lower voltage battery range only. But since it is measuring 5A in the scenario I described, when the battery is discharged more, I would expect the current level to be much higher when the charger is supplying at 100% capacity. To get a charger at this capacity, which is also a pulse charger, seems to represent a good value. The things that I don't like are the gauge of the wiring that connects to the battery. It is a bit light. The clips that connect to the battery are kind of flimsy although they are copper.

Great value
I thought it was 10 amps but only 3, but works great

Not as I expected or hoped for
I expected more. The only switch is between Fast or Slow charge. The manual is horrible. "Use the constant voltage to charge batteries, whether the current will start largely, but as it is working will decrease less." I made no mistakes in that quote. Almost every sentence is as bad. If it does some of the things it says, like Pulse Charge, I do not know, but there is no switch that allows you to make the selection. There isn't even an on/off switch. Hook up the two battery leads and plug it in. I worked for two hours on a 6 volt marine battery and the charger indicated it was done, as in 100%. When I used a hydrometer the indication was that the battery needed to be charged.

As a charger? No. Maintainer/Trickle? Maybe.
I think this battery charger is in the middle of an identity crisis as it doesn't know if it is a trickle charger, maintainer, full-on automatic battery charger, or pulse (spelled "pluse" on the case...) repair/desulfator charger. It doesn't really matter about the identity crisis, because the one I got doesn't work well, at all, for any of these functions. First... it incorrectly identified my 12v car battery as 6 volt. I moved it to another 12 volt battery, and the same thing. I THEN put it on my 6 volt motorcycle battery (old Honda) and it didn't identify it at all... nothing lit up. I put a meter on the battery and it was fine... I reconnected the charger and THEN, it saw it as 6 volts. Whew. There are some overall weird things about this charger, including puzzling graphics on the front of the case like a fake "98%" graphic that looks like a sweep meter? LOL The function switch for car or motorcycle is a 1/0 on-off switch. Meh... none of that would be a big deal if it actually worked... at something.I would stay away from this. I will attempt to put it on a 12 volt to get it to finally recognize it and see if it at least maintains it via trickle charge. If so, I will revise this a bit... otherwise, I guess it is a conversation piece for my garage.
