Unbelievable value
When you look at what you get here for what seems like a shipping cost alone....consider yourself fortunate to have such opportunities. My use was to allow access to a newly installed shutoff valve on a buried water line after I reburied it. Of course this could be any kind of buried line in which you placed a junction, which might fail or require access. I also placed this over buried SharkBite connectors in the Pex water line; those connectors must be wrapped with silicone tape to deter corrosion and are a weak link in a buried water line. These boxes look so nice at ground level! Very professional. Six inches across at the top is standard. The very sturdy box, with simple cutouts for a line on two sides, is some nine inches deep - good for sprinkling system maybe but not deep enough for my water line, but, you think I want to look for a deeper one that costs more? Heck no! I just put an upside down plastic plant-holder down first (you could use a plastic bucket, maybe a water gallon container, just put dirt around the outside and cut a hole in the top big enough to reach in). After filling to that level, then place this - it went right over half of the plant bucket - then fill in around it. Maybe a little insulation inside if you worry unnecessarily. Now, when I open it after easily mowing over it, it looks like a two foot deep chamber down there, and arm length suffices to reach and turn the valve. You couldn't easily replace a line splice through this box; you'd just have to dig it up. But, it marks the spot for you and makes it very easy to check for and detect any future leaks!

This will protect your pvc pipes and valves from getting stepped on and busted up.
I found this valve cover and it's nice and small and perfect for my needs. I had to repair a section of my drip watering system due to a split section getting crushed somehow. After repairing the pvc and improving the connection I sure didn't want to do it again in the future so I placed this valve cover right over the junction and BAM! it fit perfectly. IT functions as both a protection against impact, but also as an X-marks-the-spot marker for any future need to locate the piping split.Recommended.

Good deal for the price
I did not like the hole in the top of the lid as black widow spiders like to hide in places like that but I stuck in a wine cork in it to close it up and it works fine

Unsung Hero of Irrigation
At long last, we’ve arrived at the most heroic piece of subterranean infrastructure you’ll never think about again: the six inch water valve box.Let’s start with the obvious – it’s a cylinder. Not flashy. Not complicated. It’s not trying to be the center of attention. It knows its job: to sit in the ground, mind its business, and protect the shut-off valve like a loyal guard dog made of HDPE.Build Quality:The craftsmanship here is… entirely adequate. The box is plastic — thick, sturdy plastic that says, “I’m not here to play games. I’m here to encase a valve.” It doesn’t bend, it doesn’t whine, and if it ever cracks, it’ll be because you drove over it with a truck you shouldn’t have. And even then? It’ll probably forgive you.Functionality:Open the lid (yes, it has a lid!) and there it is — glorious empty space. Exactly enough room for a shut-off valve and perhaps a modest spider community. The lid clicks in with just enough friction to resist random gusts of wind but not so tight you need a crowbar and a prayer to open it. It is the Goldilocks of lids: just right.Aesthetics:Black. Round. Unapologetically valve-box-shaped. There are no logos, no branding, no QR codes to scan — just a utilitarian disk that blends into the ground like a secret passage to the world of water control. It could be mistaken for a UFO landing site by small rodents.Installation Experience:You dig a hole, you drop it in, you walk away feeling like you’ve accomplished something mildly important. It doesn’t come with instructions because it doesn’t need them. If you require instructions, perhaps you shouldn’t be installing a valve box.Overall:This is the kind of product you forget about instantly… unless it’s missing. Then it’s all you think about. It’s like a good referee — if it does its job right, you’ll never notice it. But when it’s gone? Chaos. Mud. Questionable puddles.

great quality for the price. was cheaper than Lowes at the time of order.
These are great quality for the price. they were actually just alittle cheaper than the valve boxes from Lowes. so this saved me a 45 minute trip to the hardware store for simply waiting a couple days while i worked on other projects. They were easy to put in the ground as they were the same diameter as my post hole digger.

As advertised
Works as advertised. I would like to see the cap with no holes.
