Very Useful Mount Adapter
This mount adaptor arrives in a Neewer branded, plane brown, cardboard box. In the box is just the mount adapter itself. The mount adapter feels well made and has a good finish throughout. It is an all metal construction (aluminium alloy), with the exception of the ‘handle’ on one of the wing-nuts which is plastic, and the rubber pad on the plate. It is is both strong and robust whilst remaining fairly lightweight. The mount adapter is designed to allow you to attach any equipment that has a 1/4”-20 socket to a C stand, light stand, flatlight stand, etc. with a tube diameter of 16mm. There are two ways you can attach the adapter. You can either push the stand’s spigot into the hole in the end of the adapter, so that the mount sits on the end of the stand. Or you can push the stand/arm through the hole in the side of the mount, so that you can slide the mount anywhere along the tube/arm and lock it in place.Once the mount is in place, the adjustable tilt ball head allows you to position and angle your equipment how you want it. One end is attached to the body of the adapter, and the other end has a 1/4”-20 thread and 2.5cm diameter plate for attaching it to your equipment. The plate has a rubber pad on it to both grip and protect whatever equipment you are attaching. In use the mount adapter works well and is a great way to attach and position additional equipment (such as mics, LED lights, camera monitors, flash lights etc.), to your existing stands. Both wing-nuts were easy to tighten and loosen, and when tightened the equipment remained secured in place. In conclusion, this is a well made mount adapter, that should prove to be a useful, long lasting piece of equipment for those who are in need of such an adapter.~ Amazon asked me to review this product and to give my honest and impartial opinion about it. That’s what I have set out to do, so I hope you found it helpful. ~

Solidly jointed adapter, very easy to tighten/untighten, well up the NEEWER's usual high standards
I have already got a couple of photo accessories that are often described as 'magic arms', 'articulated clamps' etc. Basically the adaptors allow for quick finely adjustable lockable positioning of camera lights, accessories and the like. These types of adapter clamps are extremely useful, however the ones I already use are a lot larger than this NEEWER UA004. I think that it's main strength is that it is very compact and yet it can still easily hold heavy objects with ease.In the box you get..., er, well, just the adapter. Fair enough! There's no booklet or fancy carry case but neither are really needed. What you do get though is a very nicely put together adapter that has the typical "NEEWER High Quality" build and engineering. It looks rather lovely too with the satin black finish contrasted nicely by the large bright red tightening handle/knob. It looks good and works well... but at nearly £31 it certainly can't be described as 'cheap'. However, this type of equipment needs to be tough as it will be repeatedly stressed even with normal usage and I guess that, if it is going to perform well and last a long time, then that comes at a slight premium price. I do actually think that it is worth the price but I also feel that some people may think it's a bit of a luxury.Considering the obvious strength and high quality materials I think that the NEEWER UA004 is nicely lightweight and it will probably get dropped into my camera bag regularly because of that. Its total length is only a fraction over 5", and as mentioned, that is quite small for this type of product. In my tests it was a joy to use and I could rapidly adjust the angle precisely and never felt that the small size was a hindrance - I really liked the compact design. The main tightening knob is the bright red thing that stands out very well against the black of the other bits. This knob tightens the two ball joints at each end of the shaped metal bar. It really is a joy to use, absolutely perfect design for the task. At one end of the shaped metal bar is a standard 1/4" screw bush which is surrounded by a grippy rubber platform within the knurled disc... so whether it's a lamp, flash head or even a camera or smartphone there should be no problem getting a secure fixing with the help of the grippy platform. The other end of the shaped metal bar has the ball joint which is attached to the multi-fit mounting tube (the tube can take vertical entry or sideways entry). A black tightening knob fixes the adapter tube firmly to the lighting pole, or any other suitably sized pole for that matter.I instinctively know that the NEEWER UA004 will get a lot of use. I actually prefer it to my larger 'magic arms' as I appreciate the lightweight portable compact form. It may be a considered purchase but I reckon it will pay for itself with its usefulness very easily. I really like it.

Fantastic accessory for photography but a bit expensive.
Neewer is a great brand for innovative and excellent value products for photography. I have bought a lot of photography stands, reflectors and light modifiers in the past and have been using them for my home photo studio. This is a Mount adopter from Neewer and it looks tiny in your hand but it is a very versatile piece of photography accessory. You can mount it on a C Stand, or any light stand but it will work best on a boom arm. One thing to remember though it is a very small mount so don't load heavy duty studio strobes on it. I would use this with a Speedlight or LED panels etc.It has a flexible dual ball head so you can adjust it to any angle but one knob controls both joints which is a bit of fiddle so my advice is adjust the mount in position then mount the accessory.Overall a very decent quality sturdy aluminium alloy construction of the mount combined with sturdy durable yet lightweight adopter that is designed for up to 9 kg / 20lb of weight capacity. I wouldn't push it to it's limits though. Roughly 5kg should be fine but remember health and safety rules especially when mounting it on a C stand Boom Arm.I am happy to endorse 4 stars as price is a bit high for something as small as this adopter mount.
