Versatile BlueTooth scanner supporting keyboard wedge and serial over USB alike - recommended
This product worked straight out of the box. In our use of the scanner, we needed to have a (virtual) serial port over BlueTooth. Simple to set up - scan the appropriate code on Page 4 (one for keyboard wedge, one for virtual serial port) of the manual to set it in BlueTooth pairing mode, set up pairing on our Windows PC and the device was found and paired in seconds. Scan another code in the manual to add CR/LF (Carriage Return / Line Feed) which they call "Add jump line + return as suffix" and that worked a charm. Data Matrix (DataMatrix) among many codes supported. Default serial port settings were 9600,n,8,1 as one would expect - test in PuTTY if in doubt with the default settings. NB: the micro-USB cable is for charging ONLY and does to allow for scanning over USB. This suits us, but your needs may differ. BlueTooth range was approximately 15~20m, depending on obstacles in the way - may vary depending on the BT antenna in your PC. The unit is well built and appears it will last. We will be recommending for future purchases.

Great Scanner!
I usually use Motorola, Symbol and Zebra scanner products. I am an event technologist, so I purchase all kinds of scanners all the time for client projects at events and tradeshows. I was looking for a bunch of bluetooth scanners for a tradeshow deployment, and my client didnt want to spend $300 plus per scanner. So I bought one of these, and a couple of other competing products, and did a thorough test. This scanner just worked flawlessly. Instant bluetooth connection. Perfect scans. Plenty of config options. After I tested this, i bought a bunch more. They all worked great at the show. I was using these to scan attendee badges connected to iPad Air 2's. We were using them in automated scan mode, so someone could just walk up to my app kiosks, and scan their badge without pulling the trigger.A couple of small constructive feedbacks. First, I would love it if I could disable the inactivity sleep function. If no one were to scan their badge for a period of time, the scanner would go to sleep. It would merely require someone to pull the trigger to wake up the scanner. But this was not intuitive in a kiosk that prompted the user to merely walk up to the scanner and scan their badge. This was a minor issue for us, as we just had a booth staff go around to all the stations and scan their badge once every half hour or so. A minor inconvenience, but would love to be able to have these scanners stay on indefinitely.Secondly, I was using the scanners with iPads. I was connecting the scanners directly to the ipad via bluetooth without the use of the base as a receiver. We did, however, want to use the base for charging the scanners, so we had the bases plugged in to a power adapter at one point. This caused the scanner to stop connecting directly to the ipads. It took us a couple hours of hair pulling to realize what was going on and unplug the stupid bases from the power. Apparently the bases are setup to act as a bluetooth reciever when plugged into a PC USB port, etc. So when we plugged them into power to use as a charging cradle, it pulled the bluetooth away from the ipads, and rendered the scanners inoperable. I wish I would have know that, as I purchased the units with the bases at an additional cost, only to find out that I could not use these bases as simple charging cradles without rendering my apps useless.Otherwise, these scanners worked perfectly, and without incident. They performed as well as other scanners that cost more than three times what these cost. So keep these small inconveniences in mind, and grab the Teemi scanner for your next project! Maybe the vendor will respond and address my minor issues. But seriously, these are great scanners!Note: I was not compensated in any way for my review. I purchased these scanners for a real project, and think its important for real users to share their experiences.

Big upgrade from cheap models without as heavy a price tag.
Works great - had a few of the cheaper $30 readers, but they were a little slow and would not work with very small 2D barcodes (~8mm square). This thing works great, very fast & catches even these small barcodes without problem. Seems to connect to base OK, haven't tried Bluetooth to other devices. Primarily purchased for speed & small barcode so was a great in that front, still much cheaper than some of the name-brand ones.

Very good scanner with multiple possibilities of connections to computer..
Great scanner! I love scanning the products I buy and see them online sometimes for lower price. Of course i can type in the UPC code myself but this makes it so much easier and faster. Also this scanner has nice features like adding an "enter" command to each scan so it starts a new line when scanning many codes in a row.
