Follow the instructions - take your time, you can’t go wrong
I’ll admit I was a little worried ordering this paint for delivery. Reading the reviews there were so many depicting exploded tins arriving on the doorstep. Then there were those telling of it being runny paint, terrible coverage etc.The tin arrived with a large piece of tape over the lid, securing it in place, then it was in a heat sealed bag to catch any leaks and had cardboard moulded packaging to hold it safe in the box. The box was then packaged inside another box. It was like pass the parcel, so clearly lessons have been learned in online delivery paint orders!I’ve never gone wrong with dulux paint in the past and this has been no exception. There’s a lady on here who posted a very helpful review with a video reminder about how to sweep in an upward direction so as not to get drippy paint lines. I’ve painted a lot of things, and this was not only a good reminder but also very reassuring to know it’s down to the application of the paint not the paint itself. Thank you for posting that.My experience - utterly brilliant. I’ve used it on my wooden garage door which took the best part of three days to strip and sand in preparation - it’s all about the prep! I even hoovered and then wiped down the wood work to make sure there was no dust on the surface. This paint doesn’t need undercoat as it’s 2-in-1, and I put it straight onto the wood. In hindsight, with the age and type of wood it is, I think and undercoat would have been a cheaper option as a lot of this paint has been sucked straight into the wood. As a result I do have a patchy result after one coat. The tin warns you of this if you read the side, so it wasn’t unexpected. The garage door also has a metal edge which the paint went onto perfectly! The brush lines (if you use the sweepy-uppy method) disappeared after a few seconds and it dried totally smooth. I’m really happy about that, as I was really concerned about the metal edge. The pain is a bit smelly - I’ve got used to those non-spirit based paints so I wasn’t expecting this. But it’s certainly not anywhere near as bad as the toxic stuff I remember my dad using back in the 80s! If you’re using it indoors do it on a sunny day, start early and keep the windows open.I’m doing a second coat which I’m confident will have the results I want - a nice smooth satin finish… for the birds to poop on as soon as it’s dry!!! (Shakes fist at pesky pigeons!)I’ve got the front door to do, which will be getting an undercoat first this time, as it too is old and probably quite porous. That will avoid me having to use two coats of the expensive stuff, I’ll slap some cheaper no nonsense undercoat on first, just to make sure it looks perfect when it’s finished.Cleaning the brushes was easy peasy. I used paint brush cleaner and it took all of a few seconds of swishing in that, then a good rinse with warm soapy water. I think the brush is now cleaner than when I started!!All in all, follow the instructions, keep it ventilated, sweep upwards with your brush to work out the paint lines, take your time and enjoy the end result.

Excellent outdoor paint
Non-drip, very good coverage and the colour and satin finish is superb. Easy to clean the brush afterwards as well. Used on a primed metal garage door.
