Q: What is thw difference between Balanced and Not Balanced versions?

In producing a Balanced Tension set, D'Addario has attempted to make the string tension of all six strings as equal as possible. The benefit to the play is that pressing on one string feels essentially the same as pressing on any other string. This is especially important for string-bending. Once you learn how much pressure is necessary to bend one string to increase the pitch 1/2 step (for example), the same pressure will increase the pitch 1/2 step on any other string.

Q: So what do you Blues players have to say about these strings?

Depends on the type of blues you play.... If you lean more toward "Delta", you probably wont like these much 'cause they give you more bottom end and highs and get rid of that muddy low-mid much sought-after in that style. Otherwise, many of us who pursue the more recent guitar gods (aka Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Page, etc.) will probably find these strings to be a nice "push" - to some, it will be like adding well-needed air to a deflating balloon.

Q: Ya but does it djent?

My answer is yes. Great for metal and black metal. Not sure about math metal but I would stick with yes. Nita Strauss does solo work in heavy metal and only uses these strings. Same goes for me , and the many guitarists I play with. Used them in Vegas and received many compliments. To really enhance your sound your pedal board will need some adjustments.. Good clear tone, without being too bright

I admittedly don't have the swankiest guitar/strings, but these last a while and I can keep from changing them for 6 months or so with daily-or-so use, so really quite decent. Also came with an extra high E which is great as that's the string I break the most.As for the sound, they are exactly what I was looking for; not so thin as the majority of 9s and 10s , but not so thick as meant for drop tunings (though these don't sound too bad in drop D/half step down). All in all good purchase.

Brilliant sound/feel, if not a tiny bit short lived

These strings sound and feel amazing, however I found they rusted faster than I anticipated. Would definately buy again, however I would spend special care to wipe down the springs after playing, and maybe invest in some string cleaner.

These strings are expensive, I know but you 100% get value for your money here. It’s crazy how good these are. I had always stuck to Ernie ball until recently where I had started to get a bit more aggressive with my playing and wanted to go up to 11s, I got 11s Ernie ball and they snapped after one gig. I thought it must of been a duff set so I got more and they snapped also. These strings fit perfectly with my evolving playing style which is trying to emulate Ritchie Blackmore. These strings are top notch 👌

Nice for DADGAD

I’m a big user of NYXL strings though they aren’t cheap!! Using this on a 25.4inch scale 6 string guitar in DADGAD tuning. Plays really nicely!!
