Flavourless - I think you have to add your own spices etc
These need something...... they have zero flavour? The times ive had in the past they were salty or chilli or black pepper. They also feel the wrong texture. I think maybe they need preparation! They arrived quickly and with good packaging and good use by date. But wish they had flavour or instructions on how to prepare

Delicious roasted
These are puffed lotus seeds, I've never tried them before and didn't even know you could eat lotus seeds but I love trying new things. Raw, they are a little bit spongy and chewy, with no flavour as such. After some googling, I found a good way to prepare them is to roast them in a pan with some oil, salt and spices. I used a generic curry powder blend and it came out delicious - very much like a savory popcorn. I don't know if I'd get myself some more, but it was definitely worth trying once.

Like chewing stale popcorn
It makes for a low calorie and very filling snack that apparently has a lot of beneficial properties for your body. However, it just doesn't taste like anything. There's a mild earthy taste and the texture is like stale popcorn. Not the best snack, unfortunately!

Worth giving a go
Interesting texture. My paneer recipe said lotus seeds, and these were the only edible ones I could find. I toasted them, but of course once added to the mixture they went soft again. They certainly add texture to a a dish, if not flavour. I've now sourced more recipes to use the rest of the packet
