Silverline Monobloc Back Nut Tap Spanner 27 & 32mm (656636)

Brilliant product. If you are going to be changing bath taps or basin taps then this is something which will make a difficult job alot easier. Changing the bathroom bath taps and tightening up the new taps so that they didn't move was nigh on impossible, due to two facts. 1) Because of the area where my bath is located I had to use my weaker arm (left) under the bath to try and twist the tap back nut which was incredibly difficult to get it to any level of stiffness. 2) My bath is positioned directly next to an external wall. Unfortunately the gap between the external wall and the bath is only a few inches, so trying to use a basin wrench or any other type of spanner was impossible. Using this tool allowed me to tighten both my bath taps and basin taps so that neither of them would move during the course of normal use, which was impossible without it.

An incredibly useful spanner which, whilst not making fitting taps a joy (nothing can do that in my book!), is a pleasure to use. The shaft of the box spanner is a decent length and easily allows rotation access to cramped areas of standard wash basins. I guess it is worth checking, before buying, if the length of the spanner will allow you the necessary rotation access for the job you need: the spindle holes are placed about 1.5 inches from the base of the shaft and this means that you have probably just under 8 inches of clearance from the the nut to place the spindle in the holes. It supports 27mm nut sizes which, I understand, is pretty standard for wash basin taps . It also supports 32mm nut sizes. A great tool and I just wish in my ignorance I had found it sooner - I would have saved money and much frustration buying other fancy tap spanners that weren't anywhere near as easy to use.

Good spanner for the price. Only gave it 4 stars as it just wasn't quite long enough.

This is a good quality tool perfect for the job in hand,tightening tap back nuts.One 1 star review says that it won't fit the black nylon 27mm back nuts on modern taps,this is not true in my case,it fits my nylon or plastic black back nuts fine and you don't need to exert much pressure to tighten them. Also i read that there isn't a tommy bar with the box spanner,yes there is with mine and that the tommy bar is too large for the pre drilled holes,not in my case, fits fine.All in all a simple strong tool for a specific job,very pleased with it.

After trying to make do with other spanners this got the job done in 5 minutes. Simple and robust well worth having the right tool for this specific job. Fits over the tap threading and makes tightening the bolt under the surface in tight areas really easy.

Can't really say much about it, it does the job and looks sturdy enough to continue doing so for quite a while.

Dovendo sostituire la cartuccia del miscelatore del bidet di casa avevo difficoltà a svitare la guarnizione di serraggio che blocca appunto la cartuccia nel miscelatore. Ho provato inizialmente con una pizza a pappagallo, poi con una chiave inglese, utilizzando il WD40 per allentare il fissaggio, ma nulla, solo tempo e fatica sprecata. Con questa chiave ho risolto in 30 secondi. Ho svitato il blocco cartuccia in un attimo e senza fatica. La chiave a tubo è robusta e il perno altrettanto efficiente e di ottima qualità. Lo consiglio vivamente, un acquisto utilissimo.
