I'm writing this review after using it for the first time and tried it with a few books and my laptop. As the most negative reviews said, it requires some effort to modify its shape, but that seems like a good compromise to me because I can feel that it is sturdy and it won't let go even if its supporting a rather heavy book or a laptop. Learning to use the paper clips takes a bit of practice, but they're well designed and hold pages solidly. Turning a page requires more work than without using this product, of course, as you need to adjust both clips (I use it to read paper books and take notes while I read). Also, you need to pay attention to the clips' mechanism initially, because it looks rather easy to do the wrong thing and break it. Don't force it without making sure you're applying force in the sense allowed by the hinges! The product look & feel is great. It feels sturdy and made of good materials. The bottom is soft so it can be confidently and comfortably used over glass. The 360 feature is quite useful to adjust the position as one moves in the desk. Overall, I'm super happy with it.

二年近く愛用しています。 角度方向高さとも調整できるの点と見た目がスッキリしている点がお気に入りです。 最近、下部の接続部がグラグラしてきて壊れたかと思いましたが、底板の裏のラバーをめくってネジをプラスドライバーで軽く締め直すことで、ぐらつきは解消されました。 ※ネジを締める際は、表側の丸い部分を押さえつつ様子を見ながら行うとよいかと思います ※固くて困っている方も、案外このネジの調整で解消されるかもしれません（自己責任でどうぞ）。 他に特に不具合などは発生していないです。 とても気に入っているので、長く使いたい製品です。

I purchased the model with the clear top. It sits on my reading desk, but I can easily move it to another location when desired. It securely holds books up to 10 x 13 inches. I have not tried anything more significant. It is attractive in its clear top and light aluminum finish because it blends in; it does not stand out to be noticed. I read, sitting down and standing up. Its tilt, height, and directional orientation work well for me. One nitpicking thing, though, is that it swivels too darn well. I prefer a light ratcheted swivel. But that is so minor. I am purchasing a second one.

I had neck surgery and was unable to read, use my computer and even eat without bending my neck. This book stand is terrific; it’s versatile, easy to position, reliable, functional and easy to keep clean. Now that my neck is healed, I still use it all the time; it holds my computer when I stream in bed on a bed tray, holds my computer when I’m computing on a table and even holds flat if need be. It holds recipe books in place and keeps them clean. This is an excellent, durable product. Another reason I love engineers!
