Great book overall
As a heavy overthinker I enjoyed this book. I think it being short and concise is useful for the target audience. It's something that I will be recommending to others and I'm sure referencing back to/rereading. It gives practical solutions to real problems but also gives a lot of encouragement in not beating ourselves when we lose track.

Gave a boost to my self-confidence
I struggle quite a lot with self-confidence and self-doubt. I often spend time dwelling on past mistakes, and also run through made up arguments in my head with people of what might happen. This “cognitive distortion” is something that I’ve done my whole life and I am trying every day to improve on it. What I like about this stop overthinking book is the way that the author spends his time walking you through his ideas one step at a time. Talking about magical thinking and discounting positives was basically had me pegged for some of the behavour that then leads on to my cycle of overthinking. Really well laid out and easy to read and follow, I even found myself smiling along to some of the stories, quotes, and descriptions which makes a nice change.

First learn to forgive your past self. Good message
One of the main messages that I took away from this book is to forgive yourself and let go of your past mistakes. I spend a lot of time telling myself that I can’t do something because I always have failed in the past, to the point that I hardly ever try new things or meet new people in case they think that I’m an idiot. This has made me miss out on a lot of different things, I can see that now. I am focusing on making just a handful of the suggested changes over the next 3 to 4 weeks to begin with, and then revisiting to see what else I can do to improve. Here’s to less negativity and more belief!

Empower yourself
Brilliantly witty and delightfully well written. I’m happy to see that there is more than just generic advice given here. The author delivers a guide that it fully loaded with methods to help you focus up, move forward and deal with yourself rather than just stick your head in the sand. The author’s tone comes across as a combination of a guidance counselor, a life coach, and an old friend who just wants the best for you. I really liked where he talks about how to manage the growing pains of risk and how to keep yourself motivated and empower yourself by taking responsibility. An excellent and well researched must read.

My mental junk draw was overflowing!
I’m not a big overthinker. My problem was that no matter how tired I feel, as soon as my head hits the pillow at night my mind starts churning over endless lists of what I have to do the next day, week, month or year. It keeps me away, sometimes for hours and is seriously irritating! The methods that Bailey talks about in his book seem so obvious now that they’ve been spelled out to me that I could kick myself. A brilliant read that was definitely worth my time.

Tons or usable techniques
Full of really usable techniques, some mental - such as working rewards into the tedious stuff - and some physical - like the almighty list! - This is something that I was already sort of doing but have added the extras now. On a side note, I love how this writer manages to find relevant references from characters like Agent K. from men in black, and Randy Marsh from South Park is amazing and kept me smiling the whole way through this book.

He's done it again!
This is the best book that I’ve read by this writer so far. The chapters that help you look at your past self, so that you can make moves in the present to ensure that your future self can climb the ladder of success it a stroke of genius. Written in his usual easy going manner with little elements of well timed humor make this another quality read.
