Bright, beautiful and quiet!
I just ordered my second batch of these, and the first batch sat in my basement for two years with my full intention to "someday" rewire the fluorescent fixtures in my basement, and remove the ballasts. Well we all know how "someday" goes. I ended up waiting until I was semiretired to take on this task. The rewiring was no problem, once I figured out that my particular set up was a bit different from the many YouTube videos-mine had built-in battery backup that had a whole bunch of wires, and it was only after I figured that out that I was able to install these tubes. Once done, they work perfectly! They are extremely bright, and the light is a very cool temperature which is really what I wanted in my basement. They make absolutely no noise, which is contrasted by the fluorescent lights with their ballasts that were there previously. If you are waiting to do this "someday", take my word for it-it's a much easier task than you might be anticipating, and you could probably have a first fluorescent fixture complete in about half an hour, and then once you know what you're doing, about 15 minutes for subsequent fixtures. You might as well make "someday" this coming weekend!

Work just fine-Type B bulb
The LED replacements for regular fluorescent tubes advertise a years-long life span; I converted all my home fluorescent ceiling fixtures (21 in all) to LED-type B fixtures. The Type B fixture has only one powered end (positive & negative); the other end is a dead "tombstone". The typical average wattage use for my old lights is about 150 watts per unit. So the wattage used if all are on is 21 x 150 watts or 3150 watts of electricity. The change over to the LED tubes puts the wattage used as 21 x 18 watts or 378 watts so it is a big savings if all the tubes are on. The LED tubes are so bright that I actually only use one tube in each unit.In my change over to LED tubes, I used Hyperion LED tubes purchased from Amazon. They were installed 5 years ago and today 20 tubes are working just fine. One tube burned out (shorted out?) a month or so ago. Hyperion LED tubes are no longer available from Amazon. It is now confusing to find replacement LED tubes because some are powered from both ends of the unit just like the old fluorescent tubes. These tubes are labeled type A. Others are tubes that are powered only from one end known as type B which are harder to find. The third type is labeled type A&B. I bought one of these from Ace Hardware and it did not work in my type B unit. The JESLED unit from Amazon is labeled type A&B. The online description of the unit shows how to install it in a type B unit and the description matched how my LED units are set up. I took the chance that these tubes would work. I installed it as per the supplied diagram and it worked just fine; just like the Hyperion tubes. I could not buy just one tube from Amazon; the smallest lot available is a 4-tube set. So I now have replacements, which is a good idea anyway. The LED tubes arrive very well packaged in individual tube boxes within a very sturdy exterior carton. I highly recommend the JESLED product.

Nice and bright and easy to install
Easy to install into old fluorescent fitting. Very bright and like daylight in the room. Would certainly use again!

An idiot can install
The lights were light and easy to fit by a novice like me but my electrical connection was bad so the lights did not work and I had to returnIt had a plastic protection at each end to hold the lights securely unlike my previous round ones one of which fell on my head after I had secured it and crashed on the floor into thousand piecesđŹ

Bright, but only come in packs of 4
I really like these lights because theyâre significantly brighter than my 25-year-old fluorescent tubes, and they are compatible after removing the ballast. However, they only come in packs of four bulbs and I donât want spare bulbs laying around in the garage for years.

Vast Improvement over T8 Fluorescent
I have two light fixtures of 4 each 48 inch Fluorescent light tubes in my basement. I've become disenchanted with replacing the Fluorescent light tubes over the months and years, not knowing which ones are still good because they work in a series of two - that is, two good ones must be plugged in to get them both to light. So I bought JESLED 4FT LED T8 Type A+B Tube Lights. I went onto Youtube to get suggestions on the installation. One presentation recommended turning off the electric, fiddling around with the ballasts, and bypassing them with some "elaborate" rewiring. I noted that the JESLED LED T8 Type lights claim to be "plug and play." So I took off the protective plastic ends of the LED tubes that protect the two pins and put them into the sockets where the Fluorescent tubes were placed - and "voilĂ !" Let there be light!!! Yes, they are "plug and play," to my relief. So I immediately ordered four more JESLED 4FT LED T8 Type A+B Tube Lights. I researched: "What is the Difference Between T8 LED and T8 Fluorescent Bulbs?" and discovered: (1) LED T8 consume around 30% less power than fluorescent T8; (2) T8 LED bulbs can last 50,000 to 100,000 hours while fluorescent T8 tubes last just 30,000 to 50,000 hours (my fluorescent T8 tubes got nowhere near that length of service time); (3) LEDs are mercury-free, while fluorescent lights contain mercury (bad for the environment and cause disposal concerns); (4) the color rendering of LED is better and brighter than fluorescent; and (5) LEDs are âinstant on,â fluorescents are not. On the negative side, the LEDs are rather more expensive than fluorescent, but with the energy savings, the disposal advantage, and the length of expected service, I will take my chances. If it is not so, I will follow up later. Right now, I am very pleased with my purchase.

super easy direct replacement for shop lights
My 4-foot shop lights are old and I have to replace the fluorescent tubes every couple years. So I got these. They are significantly brighter than the old tubes, and I did not have to do any rewiring... just changed out the old bulbs for the new. But one IMPORTANT note: I was worried at first because when I put the first one of these in, it glowed dimly with a terrible flicker. But as soon as I installed the second, they both lit brightly.
