These are so great for heating up a cup of coffee really quickly, I use it every day. Much better quality than others I've had before, very easy to use , just make sure it's in the liquid before plugging in. They are a lot bigger than others I've had before also, and you get 2!!! Great value!!

I tried it as soon as I received it as I was curious to see how quickly it boiled water. I got distracted doing something else while I waited. At the 5 minute mark I remembered to check and it was at a rolling boil so I disconnected the plug. I put in my tea bag noing that next time I better check it at 3 minutes or sooner. I’m using a stainless steel double walled cup and at the 1 hour mark I couldn’t drink it as it burned my lip. I tried again at 1 1/2 hours and it’s still too hot. This is a very effective immersion heater and I’m very happy. I want to keep it near my bedstand so I can heat my tea when it gets warm. I’m loving it so far. Works great for a one cup hot water heater for travel. I use a Yeti cup to heat the water as this will boil the water in a short time. I would only use a metal cup as this does get very hot.

Always pay attention to the reviews and dimensions (advising myself). This is unnecessarily and annoyingly long. I've been using immersion coils for literally decades and for whatever reason this one is just too long and will not fit in a typical cup. You shouldn't have to adapt your gear to match a device, in this case bringing a longer, larger cup to accommodate this coil. Most collapsible travel cups max out in height about an inch lower than this coil. So, my ridiculously expensive Sea to Summit collapsible cup is way too short for this. I gave it 3 stars because it does work in the right size cup. I should've returned it.

Im one of those who needs coffee upon wakening. Can't wait. I bought these as a travel item. Item was packaged well. Both units had storage pouches.Worked perfectly. It took a shade under 5 minutes to boil 12 ounces of water.Great travel item to have.

Worked well for a few months, but hard to clean and would burn if not careful. Then I went to plug it in one day and it shot out sparks and fried four of my outlets.

Bought this to use to heat up water for instant coffee on my trip to Spain. It gets hot very quickly and only takes a few seconds before you hear the water starting to boil. Very effective! I brought a tall glass coffee cup instead of a short mug to ensure the length of the heater would be submerged. Getting the adapter was a plus to have an extra one in my hotel room.
