I bought this set because I have a long hair cat that mats very easy, especially in spring / warm months when they shed. I read some reviews that said these scissors were uncomfortable or hurt their fingers, that has not been the case for me. I find them comfortable to use and they do not hurt fingers and I’m told I have chubby sausage fingers! Haha. I also read reviews that said the set was cheap and not sturdy, I find the set to have some decent weight, when I use the scissors /thinning shears they feel sturdy and are easy to maneuver. The comb has some decent weight and combs thru the cats thick fur no problem. Each piece came in its own little cover and look professional. The comb works great on her long fur, in fact she falls asleep while I comb her, usually she fusses after a few brush strokes. And the comb pulls a lot of the loose underfur without hurting her or pulling uncomfortably. The thinning shears are doing just what I wanted them to do. On some of her spots that make little knots I can thin the knot and it will easily pull or comb out with no bother to the cat. When I’ve tried to cut out knots before she fusses and runs and previously combing pulled her fur and hurt her. The thinning shears are just the thing. I don’t know how this set matches up to professional barber / cosmetologist scissors, but for the amateur home hair trimmer / animal groomer I think it’s a good investment.

We have two Great Pyrenees, and twice a year when they shed/blowout for the changing of the seasons, it’s like we are swimming in a literal sea of fur! Being double-coated dogs, bathing and combing is a strenuous task, but this kit made much lighter work of the process. The thinning shears are a generous size and strong and sharp enough to thin even the thickest areas of hair. The rounded tip scissors were perfect for removing mats in delicate areas without the risk of accidentally piercing the skin. The comb is also good-sized, easy to hold, and handy for removing the hair after it has been thinned. Overall, this set helped me achieve a thorough grooming making our furbabies more comfortable for the heat of the summer without compromising the fine undercoat. I couldn’t be happier!

I was excited to get these scissors in and try them, but I was quickly disappointed. They dulled extremely fast and now are basically worthless. They are comfortable to use and seem to be made well, but my only complaint is they get dull so fast.
