Excellent replacement headband for the M50x
The replacement headband was super easy to install, it's well-made, comfortable and looks good.

Good fit, good quality, great look.
Like most people who bought this product, the headband and earpad covers on my M50x's had started to flake away. They lasted a good 8 years though, so I can't complain. I had the choice of buying new headphones, or replacing the covers, so I went with the replacement headband and earpads, and I'm glad I did, because that was way cheaper! I went with the brown ones, and they look super cool. The headband was easy to fit and didn't take more than a few minutes. The earpad covers took a little longer and required a bit of fidgeting, but I wouldn't say it was hard to fit them. They're as comfortable as the originals, and feel like they're made of a similar material, which means that in about 8 years, I might need to replace them again!

A pleasing result!
A synthetic leather replacement that once fitted looks pleasing and is comfortable enough. The instructions are a joke, they make no sense, go in to YouTube and check a couple of videos out. Once you’ve figured out how to install the cover, it’s actually really simple!! It looks good, not absolutely perfect, it’s a Velcro seal - BUT - 100 times better than the original disintegrated headband cover! Yes I’d recommend at this price.

Looks really good!
Considered some of the cheaper options with zips, but they didn't look very good. The Soulwit one is a bit more expensive, but it's worth the money so far. Easy to fit. Looks really good. Just hope it lasts ok. Maybe they should print "Audio Soulwit" across the top in the same font as the original 😁

Great quality and easy install
Easy to install. I found the instructions a little tricky but once you’ve taken the old cover off it all makes sense. Comfortable, probably more so than the original. I would say it’s on the slight expensive side but I would by it again. Great quality

Good replacement.
It took a while to realize how to fit it but it works well. No instructions so found out on YouTube.

Instructions don’t match / cheap materials / overpriced
Got the thing on and it looks ok, but not quite what I was hoping for. Firstly, the instructions don’t quite match the product I received. I had to figure out how to get it on securely my own way which involved some bodging. Secondly, for it to be durable long term seems unlikely. Material quality is cheap and thin, similar to the OEM but even less tough and a lot less secure due to Velcro attachment. Thirdly the price. For the irritating experience I’ve had with the install and the quality of materials used, this is overpriced. Would not recommend.

Excellent
Easy to fit. Try before removing double sided tape. Fitted on ATH-M50X. Fitted as expected. Easy to remove and replace endcaps with provided screwdriver. I presumed included strip of double sided is for securing end caps as on original before screwing back together. Original band must be cut with scissors to remove. Also pull out plastic / foam strip underneath. When headband is wrapped around you can see joint at velcro edge.

The original covering on the headband of my M50’s was disintegrating to the point where I couldn’t use them anymore without leaving little black plastic flakes all over my hair. I tried to fix it with tape but it looked awful and was uncomfortable. The foam padding had become very thin as well. I’m really impressed with this replacement. It comes with detailed instructions and the exact right size tiny screwdriver. It took just a few minutes to unscrew the plastic brackets, cut off the old covering, and stick the new one on. I read through all the instructions before I started, and made sure to orient the new covering so that the smooth side faced the front. Since the covering attaches with Velcro, though the Velcro is high quality with strong hold, there is still a little gap. I don’t mind, it beats having the replace the entire set of headphones just because the covering is worn out. The fit is as precise as it possibly can be for an aftermarket product. I bought the ear pads too and everything is very well made. I also love that the replacement ear pads and headband cover come in a variety of colors so you can customize the way your AT headphones look. I got both in brown and it gives a retro vibe.

I looked forever to find this product, black, but for the ATH M40. It just didn't exist in any color other than brown (ew). So I bought this one, which is for the ATH M50, and it fits just fine. Anyone who doesn't want a brown replacement cover for their black ATH M40s, should consider just buying this one instead. The one main negative to this product is in the installation directions. They aren't great. Despite that, I was able to do this in less than fifteen minutes. Anyone with enough patience and skill can manage this if they take their time, use common sense, and carefully observe how the old one was put together. Everything you need is included, even a piece of tape for the headphone wire and the screwdriver you need for disassembly. Removing the old one was simple, and getting the new one on was only slightly tricky. This could be due to the fact that I was putting an ATH M50 cover onto an ATH M40 but they're so similar in size that I doubt it. It's just a bit of a tight fit, which is necessary to preserve that factory look. Practice getting the alignment right before you remove the backing from the tape. Once you stick the tape onto the headband, carefully stretch the fabric around the band until the foam section is correctly aligned, stick the velcro together, and reassemble. I had to manage the wire inside the headband and make sure it didn't get pinched during reassembly, I don't know if that would be the same on the ATH M50. I assume so, because there is a piece of tape in just the right spot for you to stick the wire on to hold it still. The tape isn't super-sticky but it doesn't need to be; the velcro is doing the heavy lifting there. Despite being used for headphones not in the recommended list, fit and finish were just fine. The material feels about the same as what I replaced, just typical pleather over a thin foam cushion. The foam is thicker in this replacement than what was originally in it. That's a plus. And, the color matches. After installation, the headband replacement looks like it belongs there. It looks really close to factory, actually. It only lacks the brand name logo that the original had, and I don't care about that. The cushion is slightly thicker, which adds a small amount of comfort to what was already a comfortable-to-wear headphone. Looking at it now, no one can tell I've had these for almost a decade. Very pleased with this product and would recommend.
