The wide blade is perfect for flipping a smashed burger; very sturdy/heavy. Some people say you can use it to smash the burger (I tried doing it) but I would recommend against it; you can’t get the kind of “smash” that you will get from a dedicated smasher.

this spatula is a beast, works great smashing and flipping my burgers, the sharpness of the front edge gets under the meat without tearing it, and its very thick so there’s no bending from the weight. the handle insulates your hand from the heat, feels good in your hand, and doesn’t slip, even if you have a little grease on your hands from handling meat. months later, it still looks new, thanks to being high quality stainless.

It’s great for other stuff too, not just burgers! It’s a very sturdy spatula and I can relatively clean it easy. Don’t have to worry about it slipping because the handle has a nice grip to it and I can make food without worrying about using this spatula. It gets the job done and I made some pretty good smash burgers with this!

I don't usually write a review until I've used the purchased item for at least a month. So, since this was just delivered literally 5 minutes ago I cannot speak to durability. I can say it seems very sturdy, and I do have quite a few Blackstone accoutrement which are all of good quality so I expect nothing less of this.BUT IT IS BIG!!! Of course I read the specs and knew what I was buying, but wow, it's big. If you're using this for nearly any outdoor cooker you will have no problems. If you're going to use it in a cast iron or carbon steel skillet, I would say you're skillet is going to need to be 10-12" otherwise shop for a smaller spatula - did I mention it's big??? I do recommend :)
