Keep mosquitos away. Finally!
I now can enjoy my backyard again.

Ineffective
We bought these and the electric mosquito lure made by the same company. We had high hopes that using both types of traps would take care of our asian tigers. We were DISAPPOINTED. These traps are overpriced and ineffective.

It works, but is it useful?
Well, this thing actually catches mosquitoes, and quite a lot of them. So it does what it says on the box. I often find mosquitoes hovering around the opening. It does seem like there are fewer mosquitoes hovering around me since I placed this and other traps around, but I also try to diligently apply my favorite repellent, Lemon Eucalyptus, whenever I am outside for extended periods. It is an easy to maintain device, and effective in its described capacity. So I am inclined to recommend it for mosquito control. Placement makes a difference. Initially, one of the two wasn't catching anything, so I moved it, and now both have been equally effective.

It definitely catches mosquitoes.
It works! What I mean by that is that a week later the sticky trap is covered in mosquitoes. It does best on mosquitoes and sometimes catches other stuff (unlike light traps that really just catch moths.) But it competes with other nesting areas so if there are plenty of wet places for mosquitoes to breed in your neighborhood, it won’t fix the whole problem. The manufacturer explains this in their materials. Also: if you install it wrong or if the wind tips it, it will become a breeding site for mosquitoes. The mash that keeps mosquitoes from reaching the water can be displaced. This is not a problem if you check it every week, but if you forget about it, you are making the issue worse. Also: the plastic becomes brittle in the sun. It will only last a couple of years. The picture blow is after just a few hours. A week later there was like 100 skeeters on it.

Very Disappointing – Don’t Waste Your Money
I’ve been using the BG-GAT Biogent trap for a couple of months now, and it has been incredibly disappointing. Despite following the instructions carefully and trying it in different locations around my property, it consistently catches only two to three mosquitoes a week — if that. It also requires frequent water changes, making it high-maintenance for such underwhelming results. By the time I realized how ineffective it was, it was already too late to return it. Save your time and money — this trap simply does not work as advertised.

So many dead mosquitos ❤️❤️
Within a day, not only was I was able to capture 7 mosquitoes, but no other innocent insects got caught in this trap. I look forward to wiping out more generations of this noxious pest muahahaha! The effectiveness of the trap does seem to be a bit location dependent, so I recommend testing a few spots in your yard for the best results.

Does its job!
Very satisfying to see all the mosquitos that get caught. I found a lot of luck placing the trap under my backyard tree on soil and near other plants. I tried placing on my deck near some vines but no dice. I do have to check on it every week to unstick leaves that get caught or adjust the sticky tape that falls down sometimes.

Doesn't catch any Asian tiger mosquitoes, even though they've bit me plenty!
We had these set out for the summer in two different parts of our yard, and I moved them around periodically to see if I could find a more attractive place to get them to work. We also have the Biogents Mosquitaire with the CO2 attachment, which caught plenty of mosquitoes. The Mosquitaire trap doesn't catch them all, though; I still would get some bites on the ankles from some Asian tiger mosquitoes (confirmed either because I'd see them, or manage to kill them after they did their damage to me). But these additional "non-electronic" traps didn't ever catch a single one of these mosquitoes, even though they are supposed to attract the females after they've bitten you. Waste of money.
