Filters are like printer ink cartridges. That is where the money goes. These filled a great need for my home aquarium. Reusable filters are a need in our turtle tank. When first removed from the package, they are stiff, and misshapen. A quick rinse under warm water expands them and returns them to their rightful shape. I retracted a star due to the cut. The filter is normally trapezoidal in shape, and while a couple are, most are not even square. They seem to be cut at an off angle. In the end, they do they job, but with the incorrect cut, they tend to bow, or sit in the filter housing at a weird angle potentially leaving gaps that tank waste can get around. A small issue, but quality control could be better.

These are quality filters. When you receive them, they are vacuum sealed. They include instructions on how to inflate them to normal size. They also come as 1 large sheet. You have to cut them out to fit your filter. There is a little prep to get started, but they work really well. I have a tendency to change them out more frequently now that I always have some on hand. I cut out 6 to start with. I have washed them out, when full, and used each of them over again. They work like new every time. I have already purchases a 2nd order just in case Amazon stops selling them, or the price goes up. As they stand now, they are super economical.

Just what I needed! Cut it down to filter size for pump in the Bird baths. Also cut 1 sheet of filter material in half and hot glued ends together to form a circle around the pump so the pump filter needs cleaning less. And even cut new filters high so they stick up out of the filter pocket which makes it easier to pull the filter out when changing is needed.

I was going to return them. At first I thought I got only two pieces but I peeled them apart. they were only a 1/4” thick very disappointing. Followed the directions let them sit 24hrs no change. Wetted them down and put them in the Dryer for a hour and was surprised that they to pumped up to 3/4” thick. Saved me a trip down to the UPS store and the time of picking something else and waiting on shipping.

Very good filter pads, nice and thick, I didn't even have to put them in the dryer. Nice and coarse as well, can see my hand through them.

I read the reviews. Saw some of the pics. Seemed like different people got different things? I'm going to say for sure. The first order I got was exactly what's pictured. Smonges that are like half an inch thick. Perfect for replacing the carbon filters in my aquarium to use as bio filters instead. I have a lot of aquariums. And a lot of filters. So, when it came time, I ordered same exact thing. This 2nd shipment was very thin vaccum sealed sponges. I have to use like 3 of them bunched together to do the job. And even then, they aren't as thick as one of the original. I imagine they will get the job done. But you'd think when you ordered something, you'd get exactly what you ordered. And especially if it's your 2nd order. So I guess moving forward it's a toss up as to what I'll actually get dimensions wise. Here's hoping for the thick ones next time. The thick ones work excellent.

These area just as they said .. at 1st I thought I only got 2 but they were VERY compressed but after fallowing the instructions they were exactly what I ordered

It's as advertised, and really is the real deal. So why would you ever pay more and why did I???
