This is for a ceiling fixture ONLY - It won't work in a magnifying lamp.
Warning: This product is designed as a retrofit for the fluorescent tube in a ceiling fixture. It will not work in a lamp with the magnifying lens in the middle. In those fixtures the ballast was in a box below the adjustable arms, and wires ran up one of the arms to connect to the tube. This retrofit requires an additional wire, between the power supply and the tube. Bottom line is that it won't work in one of these lamps, and this is not made clear on the packaging or in the advertising.
