Beautifully illustrated book that teaches an important lesson!
Another great book by Catherine Stephenson. The illustrations are wonderful, but what really sets this book apart is the in-depth treatment of the subject. The author covers all kinds of differences, from where kids live, to what they look like, what they like to do, and how they feel. Love the activities at the end which encourages children to put diversity and differences in their own words… what they like, what their friends like, and always to be kind and thoughtful of themselves and others.

Brings home the beauty and strengths of diversity in thought provoking ways.
This is a wonderful book on encouraging diversity. It presents people not only with different skin colors or languages but also with their strengths and weaknesses. So, one child uses sign language, but also draws to express his wishes. Another child wears glasses and also has a big smile from ear to ear. In such small but ingenious ways, the author brings the various children and their families, their languages and traditions to life. It was a pleasure to read.

A beautiful celebration of differences.
This book is a beautiful celebration of differences. This is the second book I have received from the author and I enjoyed this just as much as her book on Kindness. I especially love how easy to digest this material is for young readers thanks to her thoughtful prompts. Nicely done!

Inspiring
It's inspiring to read a kid's book that promotes differences, sharing, loving, kindness, and respect for different cultures and languages. Dustin and Daniela speak different languages and are from different cultures. It's great to see how kids can be kind and accept each other, not laugh at the accent and embrace the differences—an excellent book for parents to read to kids at bedtime.

An absolutely beautiful kids book
The watercolor illustrations depicting the beauty of diversity was wonderful. This is incredible way to make children feel seen, and also special for their uniqueness. From what kind of home they reside, to how they speak, how we look, and how we feel. I absolutely adored the way the illustrations of words were designed; for example the chapter about language, each sentence had a different swirl or pattern. Such a cool way to depict how dialect is different yet similar. This book really warmed my heart!

Help the bully and the bullied!
Kids tend to be nasty about external differences and may end up using it as an excuse to bully those different from them. This book can help both the bullies as well as the bullied. Recommended.

Essential reading for children
The media could not be loaded. I bought this book for my 4 year old nephew - I hadn’t read it but I really enjoyed this author’s book about friendships. This has not disappointed! Beautifully written (simple and profound at the same time) with delightful illustrations - this book covers so many angles about diversity in an easy to read and understand format for children (and adults). I love the interaction throughout with the reader, encouraging thoughtful discussions and empathy, and the brilliant confidence boosting activities at the end. I haven’t had chance to give it to my nephew yet, but I have found my own daughters 8 and 11 both reading it! I wish I had had access to this book when I was younger and felt sometimes that I didn’t fit in.

Perfect book celebrating the joy of diversity
The author’s previous book on friendship has become a firm favourite in our house and this second book is just as wonderful. A celebration of diversity and empathy with gentle words and fun illustrations. Championing differences, encouraging curiosity and respect, building confidence in ourselves and others. The activity section at the end of the story provoked some thoughtful conversations with my children and really encouraged them to think about themselves as individuals and diversity within their own friendships. I thoroughly recommend this book.

Great book that embodies good values
This is a lovely book that is lovingly presented and put together, and the theme of diversity is clearly very contemporary and relevant. It is very well structured, and the illustrations are gorgeous. It’s been very useful for reading with our children (4 and 6), since it asks a lot of open questions that are very thought-provoking. It also has some activities at the back. We’ve got a lot of fun and entertainment out of it. I’ve bought another few as gifts.Looking forward to seeing their next book – we also really enjoyed the previous book on friendship.
