It stopped working after a month
The device stopped working after a month and I haven't used frequently

Not worth the money
Much quicker using a normal hair dryer and straighteners. Arm aches and so loud.

This is my favourite hair tool to use now. It is brilliant. It styles my wavy/curly hair perfectly and my hair stays straighter for longer than it usually does if I were to use a normal hair dryer and straighteners (compared to cloud 9s) It is big, it may not be suitable for you if you struggle to hold heavy tools BUT I find this much much faster to style my hair so I don't mind this too much. My hair feels so much healthier and softer when I've styled it with this straightener. I can jump out the shower, towel dry my hair and straighten it from wet. I've been able to do my whole head, wet to dry and straight, in 10 minutes!! (Medium length, bleached, thick). It definitely feels like it's doing much less damage but I would still recommend using heat protection spray as you are still applying heat to your hair and there's no harm in extra protection! It is a little loud when you first turn the device on but it is still quieter than most normal hair dryers and I wouldn't expect it to be silent. You might struggle if others are asleep nearby but no more than a hairdryer. I LOVE this styler and it's pretty much the only tool I will use now. Friends and family have given it a go too on different hair types and it's been amazing every time!! I have had this about 3 months now and it's still working like the day I bought it. I'm hoping this lasts as long as other ghd products used to but I am hopeful so far. *There is mention of it in the instructions but I would let the device run and heat up for a couple of minutes before first use and the plastic smell disappears. This is normal for most devices but is worth noting that it's nothing to worry about*

I have 3c/4a curly/coily hair. I used this for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to blow dry & get my hair silky straight and it was shiny. It took around 1 hour for the whole process since I needed to get use to the product and wasn't hard for me to use if you actually follow instructions. I'm so happy I went with my gut and bought it instead of reading reviews. It worked so well....I currently have a revair but it isn't good for travel, I needed something that would be and this fit the bill perfectly. The price is high but it's worth it. Best decision I made...

This product was not what I thought it would be. It took alot of times to dry one bit of hair (and I have thin hair). Then it was tugging and I could her it catching and breaking my hair. When you lay it down to section the nezt bit of wet hair the hot air doesn't stop which would cause the area to burn when they are resting unless you set them on a heat mat (this is provided). I feel it would cause the same damage as me blowdrying my hair then using straighteners after.

I've used this 3 times now and can't believe how great it is. I watched so many YouTube reviews before I bought it due to the cost but for me and my hair type, so far so good. It is my first GHD product. My hair is fine with enough of it, but it has a natural frizz if left to its own devices. This means I need to dry it straight or I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. What I don't want is a flat ironed look so have never taken to straighteners. I have been using the Revlon one step and dyson air wrap depending on if I want it straight or wavy. Recently though nothing has been able to take away the frizz. And even if it looks ok it frizzes up within a few hours hours. This is why I tried the duet and it is the only way I've ever had anything close to resembling a proper blow dry at home. Plus it lasts until the next wash. My hair looks shinier than it really is and feels soft with body and movement. I've not even used the shine shot (normal straightening) apart from the baby hair at the roots as I don't like the idea of too much heat on already fine and dry hair. All the cons I read about weight, noise and the placement of the controls are a non issue. I am used to the bigger head of the Revlon though so it may take some getting used to. It is way more effective for me than the Dyson smoothing brush which I could just not get to grips with. I got mine from the warehouse and the box looked like a dog had chewed it but the device itself was pristine. If you are at all on the fence I would try it. I'm so glad I did.
