Finally, the right brace
This is by far the best brace for my Dequervain’s tenosynovitis! There are so many braces I tried, and none of them offers the support and comfort of this brace. As soon as I tried it on, I knew I found the right one. It’s lightweight, sturdy, and holds my thumb in the correct position to aid healing. It’s sleek and not bulky like the other braces out there. A lot of times, I forget I have it on because it’s so comfortable. Definitely worth every penny!

Does what it's intended. Do not wear if need wrist activity.
This is meant to immobilize and stabilize the thumb. Which it definitely does very well!It will allow you to move your thumb very slightly so you still maintain ability to grasp/pinch/hold things. However, the design is not conducive to any activity that also requires you flex your wrist a lot.I needed to wear this to stabilize my thumb, but I needed to wear it during activities that also required wrist flexion. The end of the brace sits well below the base of the thumb (supporting the CMC joint), so any wrist flexion causes the brace to compress against the wrist. This end of the brace is thin but rigid, so the first couple of times this happens, no big deal.... but repeated contact against the wrist and you'll start to notice abrasions/bruising before you know it.I was even wearing the provided sleeve to help, which definitely helped with the abrasions but it didn't do much to keep my wrist from getting sore from the continuous contact against the edge of the brace.Only knocking off 1 star - because it definitely is a high quality brace and it immobilizes and stabilizes the thumb very well! It's pretty comfortable and supportive as long as you keep your wrists neutral......If you find yourself needing wrist flexion like I did, might want to consider sizing down (although based on the sizing recommendations, this wouldn't have worked for me as I never would have been able to get my thumb through the opening as it barely fits through the current size). So, other than a little limitation in terms of it's application, never-the-less, this is a high quality product that works very well as described.

Sturdy, good support for my thumb
To those out there who would attempt to modify/adjust this with hot water - it's hard plastic, not thermoplastic so can't be modified unless you have a heat gun.I have tried several different thumb CMC braces that just did not provide support, and reduce pain while allowing functional hand use.I give it 5 stars despite the size not quite right - I measured and ordered Medium according to their size chart. It was slightly too big even with the liner that is included - I made my own liner out of a neoprene cold-drink-can holder by cutting the holder in two equal halves - placed a half inside the brace when I put it on - PERFECT! The brace appropriately stabilizes my CMC and my MCP joint allowing hand use almost painfree! My thumb is obviously a tad shorter than most so the brace did not allow my DIP to flex comfortably during pinch/grip - used my Dremmel to tweak a little length at the DIP and its perfect. All other braces I have used have blocked my wrist motion and the thumb part went all the way to the tip of my thumb making it impossible for me to use my hand in functional tasks while wearing it. I just finished cutting up peppers, picking and shelling peas - with the brace on!! Almost pain free!I also wear it every night.

Be aware of design flaws.
I bought this in a small for my right hand. Dealing with some bone on bone action from arthritis in my CMC joint. When this arrived, I was overjoyed at the fit. It was perfect. But, I have to point out some rather big design flaws.1. The top of the opening for the small brace strap that goes around the wrist was broken upon arrival. I noticed it and thought it wouldn’t matter. After wearing the brace for a few days lightly. I realized it did matter. I toyed with idea of returning it. Then decided to just super glue the break. It broke again immediately after I put the brace on 2 days after glueing and clamping it. Figured after doing this, I voided any return.🤷🏻♀️2. The plastic around the brace end on the thumb is uncomfortable. It needed to be rounded out. The edge of the plastic not only required the under sleeve to be worn, but I had to apply moleskin as well, which made it fight a little tighter than I liked..3. Speaking of the under sleeve, it started to unravel after the first time I wore it. Now, I was just wearing it around the house or to run errands. Wasn’t using that hand to lift or anything really since I’m left handed thankfully.I ordered 2 more of the under sleeves in hopes that the first was just a random faulty one. Not so! The two new ones unraveled just as easily. The idea of this brace is very good, but the maker needs to go back to the design and fix those flaws. They make this unusable and after spending over $50 for the brace and the two extra sleeves, I’m not very happy with the product.Try rounding those hard edges, hemming the undersleeves properly, and putting in some kind of extra support where the notch opening is near the thumb base, and then sell your product. As it is, I could bought a couple more futuro thumb spica braces that work, albeit, not as securely, but at least they last.Which is why I give this a one star rating.

Brace is very uncomfortable and makes movement of hand very difficult
A liner is definitely needed with this brace. The liner that is included is awful and falls apart after the first use
