Great book. Easy to follow for a beginner like me (the illustrations help). Looking forward to moving on to the more advanced stuff.

Techniques for strength, power, and spiritual balance, communicated in a clear and cheerful style
This book communicates the techniques and philosophies of Muay in a balanced, connected, and thoughtful way. The power and energy of Master Lee's teaching is balanced with a light sense of humour and good-natured positivity, which I think is crucial to showing Muay the respect it deserves.These techniques have triggered some deep and fundamental (and very, very positive) changes in my understanding of my self - and as I've grown and changed over the years of learning Muay, its influence has given me a sense of spiritual calmness, balance and strength that I think my journey so far would have been impossible without.The movements in this book have increased my flexibility and strength very quickly and noticeably -- my techniques are smoother, they flow faster and more easily, and my energy levels stay consistently high. Performing the actions has increased my physical fitness and improved my posture – but they also promote a sense of tranquility with a similar effect to meditation. The techniques are surrounded by a description of the outlook and philosophy that puts you in a "muay" state of mind. I have found this is as beneficial to my mental health as the strength and flexibility techniques are to my physical health.So I just wanted so say thankyou - not only for the physical training that has made me stronger, fitter, and healthier, but also for the deeper sense of one-ness I can now see in my life!

Flexibility is the foundation of technique
No matter what martial art you study, flexibility is the key to good technique. It's great to find a book dedicated to flexibility, rather than having it tacked on as a few warm-up exercises or an after thought.MUAY - Winning Strategy & Supplementary Postures provides a huge range of stretches to improve your suppleness. You might be familiar with some of the moves from other martial arts or yoga, but I found many to be entirely new to me. You'll find exercises for all muscle groups - so you can really focus on areas you've neglected or have problems with. For me that's the upper body, but using the techniques in Winning Strategy my upper body flexibility has improved considerably - check out the Reverse Wai Posture on page 93 - after a few battles I can now comfortably do this. For any mixed martial artists out there who suffer from tight shoulders/upper back, this is the move for you!As other reviewers have stated, the book is written in a clear, concise style. There are plenty of good quality pictures to guide you through each move, and Master Lee obviously writes from a position of great knowledge and understanding of Muay Thai and Muay Boran. This special edition adds another 90 pages of material, including new postures and builds the individual techniques into a series of routines to make you stronger and more flexible. In short, I would thoroughly recommend this book.

This is total Muay Thai, in fact this is Total Martial Arts
This is total Muay Thai, in fact since Muay Thai is one of the oldest and most effective martial arts in the world a better description of this book is that it is Total Martial Arts.This book covers everything from warming up, postures and routines for increasing speed, flexibility and strength, devastating strikes and locks PLUS the often neglected, but crucially important, mental techniques for achieving extraordinary energy and power. This is the only book you need to progress your performance.I particularly like Master Lee's simple and direct approach, it means you can focus your time on application and improvement of your techniques. The training routines in this book are particularly useful as you can do them at the gym, at home or during travelling. I have used Master Lee's techniques in my training for over a year now and I can vouch for the effectiveness of his approach. Also, you can't help but be influenced by his philosophy which will change your outlook on life, giving you more determination and perseverance to achieve your goals.This is a highly effective book and I would recommend it as an essential part of your martial arts library.

Great Moves for Strength, balance and calmness - a great partner to Lee's other book
I really like both of Lee's books but this one is the calmer of the two. For anyone looking to work on their calmness, mindfulness and core strength then this is the book for you. It's too easy to think about the fighting aspect of Muay but the strength is just as important. Each move is really clearly demonstrated in both pictures and words so that you could easily pick it up and do them at home working through them one by one and improving each time. I also enjoyed the stuff around mindfulness and finding more balance and awareness of ourselves which is important when most of us are so busy.

These qualities are useful not only in battle but for the battle of ...
I have been training for many years in Muay Thai. I am now unfortunately the wrong side of Forty! I found I had many injuries occurring due to lack of stretching! I purchased this book and am now injury free! I have used the exercises to strengthen my joints and stretch the body. This book contains ancient warrior postures designed for battlefield preparation. It has history and knowledge of the techniques, all fully described by the most knowledgeable author! It also shows you how to relax under pressure, stay calm, focused and breathe correctly! These qualities are useful not only in battle but for the battle of everyday living! Thank you master Lee I feel a lot younger again now! Cant wait for the guys next book!!!!!
