Great watch - looks like new
I could not tell this was renewed when looking very closely at the watch. No issues with performance after 3 months of daily use.This replaced my Fenix 3HR and is a huge jump in performance. GPS tracking and HR are noticeably better. Training readiness and training status are worth the price of admission. These alone have helped me plan my workouts to improve my fitness, the Fenix 3HR did not give me that type of information.I thought about the 965, but I prefer the MIPS screen. I appreciate not having another device projecting light at me throughout the day.Great watch and the renewed saved me some cash!

great watch. open water swimming tracking better than 945
bought this because of multi band gps, was hoping it would do better tracking OWS and it definitely is. great product. a little 'chunky' as compared to apple watch for example, so takes some getting used to sleeping with it on. great battery life.. can get 2 weeks on a charge depending on my workout activities. very pleased so far.

Received a watch with no backlight function.
I was excited to get my watch and try out the new freatures. I wait a few years to make this purchase and I like the price presented by the vendor. Everything was going great till I entered a room with low light visibility and could not see the screen. I own 3 other older forerunner models so I did not think much of it. I figured I would change the setting later and that would solve the issue. I woke up the next day ready to go test my watch out with a run before dawn. I ended up spending 2 to 3 hours that morning researching the issue and trying to fix it. I tried everything. Powered it off/on, changed the settings , and even factory reset the watch. No backlight ever presented itself. I ended up rescheduling my run and decided to send the 955 back. The backlight issue is a known issue and should have be easy to catch during the recertification process by the company’s QC. I know this cause I did QC on returns in a previous life. Anyway.... I was hoping the return process would be fairly fast but no... I have to wait 20 to 30 days before I see a refund and am able to buy a new watch. I don't blame the vendor, I do blame the entity authorized to recertify the watch. So now I have no watch and have to wait around 30 days for them to verify its condition and fully refund my money to buy a replacement. I am annoyed to say the least. I'm not rich, times are hard and 400 some odd dollars on a recreational luxury item is a lot for me to lose for 20 to 30 days.Would buy from the vendor again in hopes they don't send me back the same watch or a watch with any defects. Talk about taking the steam out of my engine.

Fitting and useful
I am very happy with this purchase as it took me couple months to come to this decision. I have upgraded to this watch from the vivoactive 3 and i am glad i did.Useful data for running , hiking , MTB and cycling and the battery lasts for days.

Clearly not fixed
Usually have a lot of faith in Amazon but this watch is clearly still broken. Every time I progress to a new screen the old screen stays on the screen so you have two screens showing at the same time and can’t read either of them.

Unable to maintain connection to usb charger
Device won’t stay connected to computer keeps falling off and disconnected even when it’s plugged in. I ordered another charge cord to see if that’s the issue if not I will return it. Disappointed can’t even keep it connected long enough to download apps. If the cord solves the issue I will give 4 stars. If not then it will be 0 and a return.

Unable to pair phone.
Bluetooth pairing didn't work at all. I tried all the troubleshooting tips from Garmin with no luck. The watch simply isn't discoverable. This isn't my first time to setup a Forerunner 955, so this definitely seems to be a defective item.
