Best Hunk Of Metal I’ve Ever Seasoned
They say “parts is parts”. But in this case the parts are pretty darn good. Nice quality, heavy cast iron. Been making the best smash burgers on the block. Fits well. Relatively easy to clean (it is heavy after all). Very much recommend it.

I like it!
I knew I didn’t want to buy another standalone unit for my patio, a smoker and grill is enough for me. But I was curious about the flattop craze. This has been a great addition to my cooking routine. I’ve used it 6/7 times so far and have had really good results. I wouldn’t say the heat is super even, but on the Genesis it says to remove the flavorizer bars, so it isn’t really surprising that the areas directly over the burner are hotter than those that aren’t. This has been pretty easy to work around, although I recommend an infrared thermometer. All in all the cooking has been great with pretty easy clean up, which was a huge concern of mine. I’ve found either right after, or with a quick warming later on, the surface cleans easily. I can tell it is getting more seasoned which is great! I have an older Genesis (not GenesisII) 3 burner with the extra sere burner, the fit is perfect. I gave the grill a good cleaning before I used the flattop, and so far the grease trap has worked out very nicely and seems to be doing its job. Just a heads up that the way the flattop is designed it’s sunk into the grill a bit, this is a needed feature to get closer to the flames and to give you a lip for cooking, the only downside is that your knuckles end up close to the raised edge of the cooking surface which is very hot. I try to be very cognizant of this and it does get in the way of some of the spatula work that I would prefer. All in all not a huge deal, but not ideal either. I am happy, way cheaper than buying a purpose built unit, and honestly if you look around online, there are only so many uses for a flattop. So this works perfect for those times a flattop meal is what I crave, and I don’t need to have a third grill on the deck. I’d recommend this to anyone that wants to try out flattop cooking but isn’t hell bent on being a short order cook.

Nice and heavy
Purchased for my Weber Genesis grill- it fit perfectly. I seasoned it before the first use and nothing is sticking. This thing is heavy, be prepared, definitely not a cheapy. It seems to heat evenly, everything I cooked on it came out great, with no apparent hot or cold spots. For cleaning I just treat it like any other cast iron- water and a scrubby if needed and then I make sure to dry it on the grill so it never sits "wet". I'll continue to re-season it every few months to keep the rust at bay, but so far so good.

heavy duty, fits great, nice griddle surface
picked up the stainless steel griddle surface for a genesis II e-335. arrived in a few days completely intact without issues. it's heavy, just over 38lbs. thick stainless steel. this isn't just a thin sheet you're dealing with. i had to remove the grills and flavorizer bars, wear some gloves, they can be greasy. the supplied hooks fit into the sides and allow you to lower the griddle in without smashing your fingers. great design. it fit in easily with a small gap around the sides. no warp to it, it fit in flat. cleaned it off with soap and water (not on the grill) and seasoned with light coating of olive oil. heats up quickly and pretty evenly. grilled eggs and pancakes on it nicely. the raised back stop is handy for scooping things up with a spatula (sides and front are as well). the large cut in the back lets grease drop down and away so the surface doesn't become a swamp. all-in-all i'm very happy with this griddle surface. should last me a long time with proper care. while it isn't the cleanest and easiest thing to swap in and out from my grills, it saves me from having to buy an expensive separate griddle that i might only use occasionally. the material seems high quality, well designed and well made. i'm happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a griddle surface for their grill.

Easy install and great first cook
The stainless steel griddle fit nicely into my Weber Genesis 2 e-310-lp 3 burner grill with about 1/2" gap on the left and right. The griddle came with seasoning instructions and I competed that before my first cook. It is recommended to remove the flavorizer bars from the grill before installing- be sure to do that otherwise it will heat up slowly and not get as hot. I fit 1.5# of costco thick cut bacon onto the griddle in one batch. Make sure you haven't let grease build up in your grill otherwise you could get a flame up! I can also fit 5# of hash browns onto the griddle in a single batch. The surface did not stick at all- I showed this in the video with the eggs- they slid perfectly without sticking. After my first use I scrubbed the griddle with a wire brush and wiped off excess oil with a paper towel. I let the griddle warm up on medium heat for 7-8 minutes and then it took me about 30 minutes to cook the bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. I kept the heat at medium for my first cook since I was being careful with all the bacon grease and wanting to make sure it didn't flame up. After the install and first cook I am very happy with the quality and function and look forward to trying more meals. I will update if any concerns or additional insights surface.

Half a Blackstone for your Weber!
Several friends have gotten on the Blackstone craze and they report using it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So happy they say, "never going back, you need to try it." So I have a Weber Spirit 300 and until that baby breaks and can't be repaired (7 years and still works like a champ), it is my grill, period. What are you going to do? Well. one option is to order one of these cast iron inserts and put it into your Weber in place of one of the sections of standard grates. Ta da, you have a half of your Weber imitating a Blackstone and the other half is still your (my) trusty Weber! Seriously, that is all you need to do and this unit fits like a glove. A real chunk of metal and it's not fading away in any quick hurry. Oil that bad boy up and you are sautéing your veggies while the burgers grill next door. Pretty cool actually and it works well. Gets really hot with the flavorizor bars still in place, don't worry about that. Now, that said, don't think you are going to get all Bennie Hana on this insert, in fact you have to be kind of careful, because you have a limited amount of space to work with. The insert has upright sides, so your items don't just roll away, but it's not that big. If you have to do more than six burgers along with the veg, then you might run out of space. But here's the deal; if you own a compatible grill, you get the chance to see if a flattop is for you. Ultimately, my wife and I had the flavor comparison and agree that for us, the char of the grill is key for the things we cook on it. We tried Smash Burgers on the flattop and there's really no comparison. The grill wins hands down. But its up to you and this is a low cost, low risk way of checking it out for yourself. We will continue to use this insert and grill half and half, on it for fragile foods such as fish and the killer job it does on veggies.

Great Griddle
Great griddle that was a perfect fit for my Weber Genesis. It is a bit heavy, but the quality is good and its construction is heavy duty. Overall very happy with this griddle and would recommend.

Worst purchase ever made on Amazon
This review is for the carbon steel version (not stainless steel, not cast iron). The moment I opened the box my instinct was to return it. It had some odd industrial grey coating that was very coarse and bumpy - similar but much worse than a lodge cast iron skillet. The included seasoning instructions noted they were for cast iron and stainless steel; there were no instructions for the carbon steel version. The instructions for the cast iron/stainless basically said to heat up a half an inch(!) of oil to the smoking point, then "carefully discard". What? First off there are holes in the griddle for grease management so there is no way to build up a half an inch of oil. Second, even if there weren't holes could you imagine trying to handle this huge heavy griddle with smoking hot oil and trying to discard it safely? But, foolishly, I decided to give it a try instead of returning it. Because the seasoning instructions were 1) apparently not intended for carbon steel and 2) not possible and 3) risked a painful death, I decided to season it as I would a carbon steel pan, with a light coat of oil and heat over time. I still was confused whether this was even needed because of the odd bumpy coating, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Seasoning was a pain because the bumpy surface shredded paper towels. But, I managed with some other cloth rags. So after seasoning, I cooked some smash burgers on it and they turned out pretty good. Clean it, dried it, and put it away. Pulled it out a few days later and it is COVERED in rust. Running my hand over the surface, my hand comes up reddish brown from all the rust, so obviously not appetizing. Now I have to figure out some way to clean all this rust off or just trash it. What a waste of money.
