It works!
This worked for me. Very good value for money. For those who this didn't work for, I bet you didn't connect the blue wire to a power supply. Without power, how is it supposed to amplify? In order to hook up the blue wire, if your stereo wiring loom is ISO, then you want to insert the connector into the spare port on your ISO plug corresponding to A5. Do a web search for 'Car ISO pin A5' to identify the port. It may take a bit of force with a screwdriver to shove the connector into the plug so that it will make contact when you stick it into the stereo. If you have the stereo on, on a station with poor reception, once you hook up the blue wire and try again, you should notice an improvement in reception (I did). If not, then maybe the wire hasn't made contact, or maybe you put it in the wrong slot. If you put it in the wrong slot, you may pop a fuse (as I did first time round!), in which case replace the fuse in the back of the stereo. If the seller is reading this review, please include instructions with your product.

Early Days but it seemed to have worked
Ok I just fitted this & the results seem good my Ford Focus always suffered from poor reception & even the brand new stereo I bought could not pick up any stations whilst auto tuning. After fitting this I can now receive station I never new were there. I only gave it 4 stars as there are no instructions & if it were not for the reviews here I may have struggled to get it to work.

It's not an amplifier, it's a filtered supply for an amplified arial
To Dave and all the silly sods above, this isn't an amplifier, it merely supplies a 12v supply to an amplified antenna via the antenna cable. These are fitted as standard to a lot of VWs and some Fords. You don't need it if you don't have an amplified antenna, that is an antenna with an amplifier built into it. The factory stereo on these models provided the 12v to the amplified antenna, so if you remove the factory stereo you need to replace the 12v supply, this item does just that. And it works. Don't give Halfords £10 for it, get it here for a third of the price.

this did the job exactly as I wished - great reception on all stations
After a bit of research (how it works and how to wire it up) and reading other reviews, this did the job exactly as I wished - great reception on all stations, including MW. Arrived promptly and for the low cost I feel I got a great deal.It might be a good idea to have some sort of instructions, but it was no hassle to look online to find this out (the blue lead should have power supply)

MK1 Audi TT 225bhp (2001)
Bought this as recommended to do so when changing to after market head unit (Alpine CDE 133bt) I don't feel that there is any benefit as station reception is ok and sometimes with loss of signal when PC5-52 is connected.
