This lamp is EXACTLY what I wanted.It's the perfect height for a desk, which is where I use it, and it also emits blue light, which is the light of the sun.The quality of the light is consistent, too, whether it's dark, cloudy, or sunny. In fact, on dark mornings I rarely notice when it gets light out if I'm reading or studying.The instructions could be clearer. There is an illustration which is fairly easy to understand, but the narrative steps that accompany it omit a step. Between Steps four and five, you need to use your hand to screw the silver metal collar into the base of the lamp. Then you can gently push the connected wires up into the pole above it before attaching it to that collar with the small Phillips screw that they provide. If you fail to screw this collar into place first, then the whole thing will topple.Some buyers have mentioned that it's unstable. I have to say that the base is quite heavy and while you can make it wobble a bit, it would take considerable force to knock it over. By their design, all pole lamps have this "weakness" unless they are fixed to the floor and the ceiling.

I agree with those who say it was easy to assemble, gives a good, bright light, but is pretty ugly really - functional. The real disappointment came recently when it simply gave up the ghost one evening 18 months after purchase. It was only used occasionally for my partner's knitting evenings. We thought it was the bulb, but after purchasing and fitting a new one, we find that the fault is more integral - something to do with the transformer? Anyway, just a few months of use and then it is yet another piece of plastic/metal rubbish on the world's fast growing landfill sites. A heap of crap.

Took a while to realise that when the instructions said 'insert the rubber gland', they meant 'REMOVE the rubber gland' ...!!!... but after we'd sorted that out, it was easy to put together. Not the prettiest light you've ever seen, but the bulbs produce a very nice bright light that is great for writing, crafts etc in the evening. Just *remove* the rubber bit when you're putting it together!!!

This is a wonderful lamp. During Autumn the room gets quite dim and this light has made such a difference. The room is bright and it certainly makes a difference when reading or working. My dogs love it - they tend to lie under the light (they think they are sunbathing). Dark days tend to make people feel tired and lethargic - the light has changed that.I just wish I had bought one earlier.

The lamp itself is exactly what I wanted for quilting. My old OTT lite stopped working and I was looking for something as robust and long lasting. This light is great because it has 2 light settings - one brighter than the other which is great. It is taller than other lights available which I like, so I can have it behind me while qulting - no shadows and the light isn't directly in my eyes. The base is nice and heavy. The only thing I can say negatively about the light is, as other customers commented on, it is not easy to assemble.

This is an amazing lamp. I knew my lounge lighting was poor but didn't relies how bad until I got this lamp. I read other reviews and found them very helpful I hope mine helps. I bought this lamp for adult colouring cross stitching card making tapastry knitting and crochet and my god it really helps I can even sort threads out at night with this where before I'd need a good sunny day and still sit in the window to tell each colour and shade. I had no trouble putting it together and the reviews helped with that. I'm glad to say the light bulb was already in it and I've pinned the instructions to change bulb on my calendar so there handy. If your unsure about this lamp go for it honestly.

I have been looking for a good light suitable for my crafting hobby, I have bought a few but found them inadequate, this light is perfect, great light span, very much like daylight, very sturdy floor standing light, great head which can be positioned to suit your work station, easy to assemble, delivered on time, Great value for money.

Bought for my mum who is always complaining that she can’t read with normal light. Got her this for Christmas and it works a treat. My daughter reckons it looks like something you would see in a hospital but I like it. May not be fancy but it is very practical. Very easy to put together
