It would be nice if the INSTALL worked, but I just got a 'couldn't Parce' notice and it didn't work. I REALLY WANT to record my YouTube videos on a micro chip drive......idate 063025......well, one week later I KNOW! Yeah, I AM a 'newbie' with regards to saving YouTube videos, but now I got it. This program works very well....I have hundreds of saved YouTube videos that I really value for reference, etc., etc. FIRST, for me, you right-click the video desired and then copy the URL into your computer memory page (it handles that, you just copy)....now the address for your video you want is is on the computer 'clipboard' ready to be pasted into the difficult-to-see prompt onscreen of the V+A downloader 2 screen (top-left) and use a save-to destination you want, and finally hit the 'QUEUE DOWNLOAD'.....if done carefully the copy will begin and after a few moments you can watch a countdown to completion (100%).....bear in mind there will be 2 'downloads', the first for the primary YouTube video and immediately after a shorter, faster transfer to your folder--and either one can disrupt the whole task.....I've slowly found this out and don't need the auto-convert to MP3 for a videos so when the fairly fast transfer to your destination is 100% you're done and your saved YouTube video is in your destination folder and really is quite GOOD resolution with very good sound too. Works great. some are older and 720 pixels but the 1080 p is great. Just try it, carefully! I have now revised my rating. Thanks for the product. Would be a little better with simple complete instuctions....but really good, actually. UPDATE! now 070325.......OK, I'm a programmer by trade, ARL, and noticed many reviewers would say it worked good and quit later.....well, my best guess is that it's due to 'trying' to multitask while it's downloading an MTcopy2 file.....don't do that! let it finish and you won't cause a hic-up in the algorithm a somewhat sensitive algorithm in the MT2. Yeah, that's right, because I was impatient and did that very thing--some variable is disturbed by your multitask activity and causes a failed download/copy process. I know because i did the same thing and nothing worked after that.....it may be tough to wait for a long, long file to complete and then also transfer to your destination, but if you want it clean and error-free, wait and don't disturb a less-than-perfect programming algorithm in MT2. Find a reliable routine and stick to it, with care. Don't multi-task 'til it's done. I've got many 'saves' now, but for the ones that've been taken off availability by YouTube....can't help that. Just gotta act fast, I guess.NOTE: sometimes you just may need to RESTART computer, and the DEFAULT settings will be re-inserted and all's well 'til you screw up again. It's STILL a pretty good program. I've wanted this for years. 5 STARsUPDATE! 072325: now....I worked for week copying videos and then LOST the microchip....I finally found the little devil only 3 inches from my pocket stuck in the side of my chair.....it was a 512 Gb but still tiny in the smallest adapter. I immediately backed it up and saw 135 files (some duplicates, due to sensitive program not getting it exact + me screwing up), 61.4 Gigabytes and with 1 or 2 or even 3 tries I perfect 1080 & even good 720 videos. I was happy, and am glad I bought this program at less than $20. Wish I had it much earlier, because some videos were taken down.UPDATE 071425: I wanted to run a duration test (testing is what I do), and discovered why I had parsing errors during the transition between the primary video and the 'copy' immediately after of my copy of that over to my 512Gb micro card drive.....I was in the habit of putting the TIME in front of my YouTube videos, in the form or xx:xx and discovered a long duration download of 'FLYING over CANADA' did NOT run (took all night) and a previous test of 'FLYING OVER NORWAY' DID RUN, for a file on my micro card drive that was 11:55 long and was 18,715,647 KB in size......not real sure about it yet, but I'm going to try to prove it later. It takes a long time to run these kinds of videos, of course, but I think most of my problems with these downloads have been with inputting a file that I had inserted the time length in xx:xx format at the head of the file name (dumb). I suspect the colon is an illegal input that causes an error when it just completes the primary download video and transitions to download the storage of the file in your specified storage folder, much faster, too. Nevertheless, this program may work well at times, and then NOT work well at other times for some reason, and if you deviate at all in all the details, then boom, it stops with a parsing error, etc. Good luck, I do think it works well. You just have to be careful with it, and stick to what works, very carefully.FINAL UPDATE! now 071625.... I finally discovered MY PROBLEM with this program.....evidently, this program is good, it should work for any legal and available copies, and MY problem is insufficient memory for large videos and/or multitasking (my 10 year-old computer has 2 Gb memory). When I loaded a big file, 'FLYING OVER GERMANY' 20,287,979 KB (and I was operating 3 windows onscreen) I saw the download count starting, a good sign, but I had 17 stoppages' due to errors before I went to bed. When the error happens, it's a faded red print right above the % counter, hard to see, and as long as I DID NOT STOP the download, I right-clicked for a MENU to proceed.....I hit the top choice of 'resume download' each time.....went to bed....got up in morning and SURE ENOUGH it had PAUSED again due (no timeout on the error) to error #18 and the % counter was at ~40, so I hit 'resume' again, and for the next hour or so monitored the errors. I got 30-40, but the program never STOPPED, it only PAUSED, until it was through at 100%....the following count for saving the completed download to my folder was also very slow.......due to lack of memory....until it was finally done. The downloaded over 10-hour video was completed and saved to my micro card drive.... inconsistency of the errors proved that the DATA was not the culprit, but the computer memory was.CONCLUSION: NOTHING apparently wrong with the MTcopy2 program that I can detect, and I need a new computer if I continue to do this and multitask so much. Review result is still 5 STARs. I kinda like it.'final' note---got an update 3 days ago and it works great. I've still had some bad days and good days up to then.....now every day is good, it seems. Over 200 videos with 13 long or extra long--the big ones have a peculiar 'stoppage' at ~95-97% catching up on calculations I guess, but ONLY a 'pause', not a 'stop'-- I also had errors in 2 long ones (memory bumping into MAX and erring) but kept them going by right-clicking on the hard-to-see error message above counter and choosing the top choice 'resume download'......works great. Good videos, very good. Every download is successful now. Nothing I can see is wrong with this product now. Thanks for a good one.....ONE final hint--DON'T lead off a file-name with a NUMBER.

Easy to download, easy to use. No link from Youtube will work without an error message. Even simple videos cannot work. I wish there was a way to strip videos you already stored on your computer, because as an alternative I have copies of said video on my computer, but still cannot use the program to strip the audio since there is not function to do it this way. This program does not work for Youtube videos nor videos stored on your computer. Look elsewhere.

Installation from the DVD went smoothly. Took several reinstalls for my computer to recognize the software. Once I got past this minor setup glitch, the software worked flawlessly.I was impressed how quickly MT Video Downloader 2.0 queue the web link, downloaded and converted the file to MP4 took just seconds.With som many wannabe YouTube converter out there, I got lucky with one that actually works. Almost returned it until I realized both computers I tried it on only had a plug-in CD player. (No program I suppose) But there is an alternative link you can enter on your computer and download the program!! Now it works. I did have trouble because it wanted to put the files on my windows Media Player and not in my old itunes library. I did find a way around it and now I can play the music through itunes. Only downloaded 2 files so far but both worked!

It worked great... for a while. There were some issues in the beginning when I first installed the program, but I found some work-arounds. Then in February 2025, I got a message about an upgrade so I tried to download it. My antivirus (F-Secure) said the upgrade file contained a virus and blocked the download. I decided to for go the download and use the software as is. Then one fine day I tried to start the program. It would open, then immediately shutdown. I've tried uninstall and reinstall, downloading the install file directly from the manufacturer's website, etc. Nothing seems to work. There may be another work around but I'm not finding it. Use at your own risk. It's a good product, but it doesn't work for me.

Ordered YouTube Downloader from Amazon thinking I would have reliable software for downloading since all the online downloaders seem to quit working after a time. Received it promptly and installed it assuming it would work. It did not.! Tried to download a YouTube and it would just shutdown. Contacted the company and received an email saying they were having problems with the software and would have it working in two or three days. If they don’t get it going I will return the software. I was really disappointed that it didn’t work out of the box.October 8, 2024 After they fixed the program which they did in a couple of days it now works wonderful. I love the program.Now In January 2025 I did an update and its quit working again. Hope they will fix the update.Feb 2 They fixed and updated software and it worked for a few days and now it has quit working again. Seems to be a very unreliable company although they are still selling it on Amazon. When it works it works great but that is part time.

I purchased this and at first it worked great, the first I used it. The second time I used it (a few days later) it kept telling me it could not parse this format and would not down load, I uninstalled and reinstalled several times but could not get it to work. The next day it captured the video I chose, but when it came to downloading, it quit the program without downloading. IDK what it will take to get it up and running correctly. I give it 3 stars, when it was working it was great and very simple to use however if I can't get it to work I will probably buy a different one. I have never had much luck getting refunds, it's just been easier (for me) to eat the cost and find something else.
