Compact design makes CAC use easy!
I replaced a different style of card reader for this one. The short cord keeps the USB C plug from breaking (which is what happened to the fixed plug on my last reader). This reader works great and is extremely compact.

Incompatible with Sonoma 14.1.2
This has been working fine for me for the last couple months, however, after updating my MacBook to Sonoma 14.1.2, the reader stopped working. The driver download on their website wasn't working either

Driver NOT compatible with Apple M processors without using Rosetta
This review is for the SmartCard reader. I bought it because the MacBook Air M2s have only 2 thunderbolt slots and I can't afford to have one of those bulky rigid side-mount ones that hang awkwardly on the side of your computer and block your other ports. I had high hopes for this product but I was disappointed in setup and build quality.There are a few things you should know before buying:1. The plastic construction of this unit is very cheap--think cheap food carton plastic that flexes a lot. One side of the folding arms sticks and it feels like it's going to snap when opening and closing it with a cringeworthy crack. Not smooth or sturdy at all.2. It is not plug and play on a Mac. You will have to download a driver. It requires a .rar extractor and instructions for the driver are in mandarin.3. If you have a Mac with an M processor, this app will not run without Rosetta.Overall, I am not happy with it and will be returning it. I would happily pay more for better quality unit.

Lasted 1 year before it started having connectivity issue. Suspect and issue with the cable as it works if held in the right position.
