I really like this board game, it’s perfect for solo play. It uses worker-placement and hand-management mechanics. Also, the setup and cleanup are very quick (2 minutes), and it doesn’t take up much table space, so it’s very easy to bring it out to play. The campaign is simple but interesting. After each game, some cards are added that can make the rest of the games either easier or more difficult. The only negative thing I can say is that in the card market, there aren’t many meaningful decisions to make as you always want to buy as many cards as possible to make your deck thicker (since it determines when the flow of the river advances and also because you lose cards easily due to building canals and barbarians’ attacks). I recommend it for people who enjoy playing solo!

This is the perfect game for solo players for replayability, quality, difficuly, and much more. The story isn't heavily involved, but it's an excellent touch that is worth appreciating, rounding out a must buy for any game enthusiast.

I really love this game, every thing flows so well and learning it was very easy.

This game quickly became my favorite solo game. It's pure solo, which is rare. There's story elements, but they can also be ignored if you don't care, or after the first few plays. My only critique is that the campaign can get a tad too long, but you can easily take a break from it without losing track.

Really enjoying this game. I'm always looking for a game that plays solo. Since this is designed for solo play only, I had high hopes for it, and it doesn't disappoint. It is designed to be played as a campaign, with each game lasting about an hour. Each game, win or lose, builds on the story a bit, and keeps things interesting and challenging. It claims that a complete campaign (when one either loses or wins 7 games) will still only reveal about 40% of the total story line, so I expect it will remain fresh for many replays. Components are high quality. Setup is quick and the box is well-designed to keep all pieces sorted for the next game in the campaign. My only criticism is that the instructions are a bit vague on some points. That said, some common sense usually solves most issues. Well worth the investment.

Single Player Board Game - Relatively complicated to start but good

I love how the game changes with a card or 2 each time you play ... keeps me coming back for more :D

El producto cómo tal tiene buena calidad como la mayoría de los juegos de esta editorial, aunque es algo caro para el contenido comparado con otros. Ahora hablando del juego en si, es muy bueno, las mecánicas son sencillas y se aprenden fácilmente, pero la dificultad es elevada, por lo general perderás muchas veces para entender la estrategia correcta para ganar. Es un juego para un jugador tipo "Legacy" es decir de campaña, pero los componentes no se alteran por lo que es completamente "reseteable", no tiene modo "libre" quizá ese sea su punto más flaco. El manual, el juego y el libro de historias están en inglés, aunque el juego en sí solo usa iconografías deberás referirte al libro constantemente para avanzar en la historia por lo que es necesario un buen nivel de lectura. El manual te dice todo y da ejemplos constantes, pero es sumamente conciso así que requiere atención. Aún perdiendo es una gran experiencia y totalmente recomendable. Usa fundas 54x86 (no uses USA ya que le quedan grandes).

Es handelt sich um ein tolles Solo-Kampagnen-Spiel, was man schnell gelernt hat, aber stetig meistern lernt. Je nach dem, ob man gewinnt oder verliert, bekommt man Karten dazu, die einem im Spiel helfen, oder es schwerer machen. Das System des Spiels unterstützt sozusagen den Spieler je nach Skillevel. Wer gern Worker Placement und Solo-Spiele spielt, macht hier auf jeden Fall nichts verkehrt.

Here you go, as Yu (a Chinese historical figure) who has to grapple with the invading barbarians + protect the commoners and their livelihood along the river bank from impending floods + working with the citizens and sundry tasks to gather enough resources to support the first two objectives. And all of this is resettable as a replayable campaign that adapts in difficulty level based on your performance as Yu. I am impressed with the components, gameplay and design!
