lovely unit and absolute Bargain 10/10
Heats up rapidly, I did as instructed and put in on full power ( 5 ) for 5 minutes to seal the coating on the ceramics, it’s nicely made with no nooks and crannies to trap grease etc, just wipe clean, only criticism could think of is, no cooled down warning light, so beware if you have kids, however common sense will prevail I’m .

Great hob!
I first bought an induction hob, but it was a disaster, it would not pair up with any induction pan that I tried - it's supposed to work by magnetic heat, so I gave up on it.In desperation I turned my attention to this infrared hob, and what a saviour it's been!It heats up within seconds, and with a thermostat you are in control, so the results are perfect! It's easy to clean, a simple wipe with a damp cloth or kitchen towel and it's back to looking new again! So for those of you who are wondering to choose induction or infrared, you should definitely get the infrared, it's straightforward and not.unreliable like induction. It's certainly one of the best things I've purchased! 👍

Good Value and Easy To Use
I purchased one of these in August 2019 and now, October 2021, the larger plate dramatically cracked into pieces whilst I was using a Wok on full heat. I think it may have been me being too heavy handed. I have used this hotplate nearly every day since I got it and it has performed very well. I have had my monies worth. The heating control sensitivity is very good and I would say that boiling a pan of water is as quick on this as using a gas ring. It can be incredibly gentle as well for cooking low heat items. Two little niggles with it, firstly the numbers on the heating control knobs rub off very quickly and secondly the edges can be sharp in places, I once slashed my hand badly while cleaning the back of it. Overall, I am quite happy to purchase another one right after I've finished writing this review.

Great value and does what it is made for
Haven’t cooked on it yet but was impressed with the build quality and the speed at which it heated up. I am sure it will be a splendid addition to our portable cooking equipment

This hob will self-destruct in T-minus ...
I bought this Hot Plate Hob for my small kitchen to do a bit of light cooking occasionally. However, after being used only 4 times, it has now self-destructed.In short, I was frying noodles on a frying pan and the hob got so hot that it developed a circle of white "tint" in the middle of the largest ring. I didn't notice this until after I had finished cooking and when I switched it off and left it to cool down, after about 5 minutes, it spontaneously and rather loudly cracked across the entire surface of the ring, presumably due to the expansion/contraction effect of cooling from a very high temperature to room temperature. It seems the ring / the glass surface cannot cope with the temperature change / the very high temperature that the hob is capable of producing and, as a result, it breaks once it cools down.I have now contacted the seller and requested a refund as this is obviously not acceptable. I will expect the seller to grant the refund and will update this review when I hear back from them.

As good as coking by gas!
Although a fair number of suppliers "badge" this item as their own, it has proved surprisingly difficult to find one who actually has one in stock but, via Amazon, I did eventually find one plus at a very good price including delivery within just a few days.I gave up microwave cooking after finding a five inch hole in the back of the oven, wondering what that might have been doing to my body and food, and vowed never to use one again. I was happy using a Halogen table top oven but each one only seemed to last me around a year and a half and I found it really hard to keep the glass bowls clean. A small size GF grill was very useful but, again, keeping it clean was arduous. Resorting then to an electric hob, a modern one to boot, it would take fifteen minutes for a ring to heat up, another fifteen to bring anything to the boil, yet another fifteen to actually cook anything, and controlling the temperature settings was akin to navigating a spaceship through an asteroid storm.Enter this device. a two ring infra red table top cooker, which I chose in preference to an induction alternative as that seemed too similar to microwaving.Looking at photos of this product you could be forgiven for thinking you are buying a glorified camping cooker but, although its light portability does indeed lend itself to that, be assured that this is far more. There is no complex technology to grapple with, just two rings and two knobs, great stuff. The left ring is the larger, the right one the smaller, and each the same size as would be found on a conventional hob.Plug it in, choose which ring, or even both, turn the knob and hey presto heating up is a few seconds only away from instant and, so far, out of possible heat settings of between 1 and 6 I have been able to cook everything at no higher than 2.5. Therefore, I have calculated that the savings in electricity costs are substantial, and it has properly cooked absolutely everything I have thrown at it, including by using my three tier stainless steel steamer. As long as you are careful not to have the settings on too high so as to avoid spillage, because this baby is much more powerful than it looks, then cleaning it is a quick swipe with a damp sponge, just right for a grumpy old solo codger like me.Amazon has become my favourite product supplier of all time, an endless universe of products so easily viewable online, easy payment system and in an age in which safety of personal information has seemingly broken down, I have never had a problem using Amazon in that respect. No more petrol and parking to find something, endless footwork though multiple retailer buildings to track down what is sought, no more humping stuff back home, Amazon has produced the perfect alternative to all that and, from a consumer perspective, the way that I shop has been transformed. Finally, a few last words on this particular product. If I was asked to give it marks out of ten, I have been unable to find any reason to give it less than a big fat ten.Postscript 9th May =After using the product for roughly a week, the performance continues to live up to the standards as per my above review. However, the numbers 1,2,3 etc., etc on the knobs have not merely faded, they have vanished! Whoever designed that paint part was clearly an idiot. Fortunately, I am quite capable of estimating the level of temperature control from just looking at the rings in conjunction with counting the ridges on the knobs. Nonetheless, I must deduct 1 mark away from my previous 10 for this design flaw as others, particularly those with poor sight, might find this a larger obstacle to daily use.

Does the job, just not as well as hoped
It isn't the best... the rings heat up quickly, but only in the middle, so frying anything is just about out of the question, as you only get the use of the very middle of the frying pan.Does well for anything in pots, though. The markings on the knobs rub off very quickly. That said, did us well while waiting for the stove to be fixed.
