It works, but is overpriced and slow on 5Ghz
3* due to what you get for what you pay.I have used the 2.4Ghz only version of this before (which is good) and bought this with the expectation that my experience would be the same. This is not the case. When scanning on 5Ghz, the refresh rate is so slow, it’s impossible to gather any accurate information. Which defeats the point. I thought this was due to it running on a phone. The performance was still slow on a Windows laptop. If you’re testing RSSI (measuring dBm) you have to wait a few seconds each time you want a result and have to wait for a few refresh cycles to confirm the reading is stable/correct. This is fine in your own home. But not if you’re gathering data for an install in let’s say a multi storey office. The app is functional, but not fantastic. There is limited reporting functionality and the interface could be better. It’s also crashed a few times on me.Worth pointing out that there are the following cables included: “USB A - mini USB”, “lightning - mini USB” and “micro USB - mini USB”I’m still going to keep it as it does technically work and is useful due to portability. It’s just not as responsive or a good as something like a “WiSpy DBx + Chanalyzer” or “Ekahau’s ESS + SideKick” but I guess you get what you pay for.
