I was fed up with my compost as the only thing that did well seemed to be the runner bean so I got this brand of top soil, after mind-boggling gymnastics on how soil works and finally overcoming the inertia to do nothing and sit around thinking and reaching for another eternity with no action! So I got this. And I am sooo happy! My seeds did so well in this soil! I couldn't get them to sprout otherwise and this soul is just so right: sooo fine, almost moist and soft to touch as though it is preconditioned. Excellent excellent soil. Being soo fine in texture means the roots will not meet many obstacles with trying to establish themselves. So yes go for this one. Pro: - soft, fine, although another pack I bought has a few more stones (so consider using a dedicated sifter/sieve to sift the soil you use to COVER seeds like fragile lettuce when you plant them) - has a moistness to it that is not "wet"....just feels great in your hands and gives you the impression your seeds and plants will love it.

Too much composted material to be real top soil. I had to use it and will admit everything is growing OK

Good size for over seeding lawns.

Good top soil, of great quality, colour ,texture and bag size not too heavy. As for growing rate should be good , will see once plants get established. But can't see a problem. Very pleased thanks

I’ve bought many bags as the garden soil in my recent house move required rejuvenating. You can’t go wrong with this and I highly recommend it. I mix it with top soil bought at the same time as it goes further. Proof of the pudding will be in the eating!
