i know it says it's for dogs, btu i got it to use for my cats. i guess unsurprisingly, it is too big for cats. my cat could very easily scarf his food. because it is an all silicone mat with silicone protrusions, the protrusions easily move aside to accommodate my cats face. for this same reason, i think it may not work very well for dogs, especially small dogs. i chose this all silicone mat because it seemed easier and like it could serve a double purpose - i could put the regular food bowl on the corner when i feed them wet food instead of kibbles, or whatever, and i suppose i will keep them for that.

It was absolutely ok for the price I paid. I just expected the actual feeder portion to be a bigger (It's tiny, even for my small cocker) and the rubber itself to be sturdier. Wouldn't buy again or recommend but we take it when we travel for a day or two because it rolls up nicely.

My yorkie eats from this just fine and hasn’t choked (from eating too fast) since I got it.
