Not only is this product large it also has a light. It’s lightweight and perfect for senior citizens. I bought my mother one. I was worried about the magnifying aspect of it, but it worked so well I’m gonna buy myself one. Great product.

Very good magnifier. It is a Fresnel lens, which means it's the lens is made of plastic. This is not quite as optically good as a glass lens, but it makes it very light. A glass lens of this size would be too heavy to hold. Having a light on this magnifier is a big plus. I recommend you get a magnifier with the light no matter which one you get. It's the light that makes things really easy to read. This is a full page size magnifier, which is good for reading a book.

I already have two magnifying glasses. This one is superior to those I have because it lights up. It is rectangular, which is great for reading books. Maybe now I can resume my book reading without getting such tired eyes. Printing is very clear, colors too. Am very happy with my purchase.

I think I looked at most of the magnifying glasses for reading on Amazon before buying this product. I must admit that I was a little hesitant because it was so inexpensive As a former professional photographer, I was very concerned with the lens quality, knowing that the lens was made of plastic. I can assure you, the lens quality from edge to edge and top to bottom of the entire viewing area is extremely sharp with no loss of acuity. I was actually shocked at how great quality the lens actually was for this type of device. The lighting system, the weight, and everything is perfect. I suggest reading the manufacturers ads on this page. Everything they mentioned is spot on. My only concern that I had before buying (based on other reviews) was the battery life. I decided to buy an inexpensive AAA battery charger as recommended by one of the reviewers to switch out batteries as needed. There are some advantages in using your own batteries because often in devices like this the built-in battery goes bad and the unit becomes an unusable. I was also concerned initially that because the unit requires being held by hand that some hand fatigue would develop but the unit is so light that holding it is quite easy. Also, it can be easily rested on the side of a chair or on a table while you’re holding a book with one hand. I highly recommend this little magnifying glass glass. I love it.

It's okay, but this is not quite as described. The lens material is not glass. It's some kind of acrylic material. It's a type of fresnel lens, that you can see the grooves as you read a book. It also catches every dust particle in the grooves. The light does work really well for night reading. It would work far better on flat objects, however books have a slight curve, so you do need to move it a little as you read to adjust the clarity. I am not sure how long the batteries work, as I just got it. I do prefer the 2nd setting. Overall, I give it 3 stars. I will keep it mostly for two reasons. 1. Returns are a challenge in my rural area. 2. I use my kindle more often than actual books. I intend to use this mostly for library books, so it's not a total waste.

Purchased for my Dad to make his reading more enjoyable. The LED lights are perfect too! The battery compartment is also very easy to open. No small screwdriver needed!

We bought this magnifying reading glass because it had built in light. We were amazed at how quickly the AAA batteries were used up so, in order to not go broke, I bought rechargable Eneloop batteries. The light only lasts for about 2 hours of reading before needing the batteries to be recharged, even using the lowest setting. I am recharging these top rated batteries about every day or every other day. If you are going to use this without utilizing the built in light, it will be fine. But if you like the fact that it has built in lights then I suggest you look elsewhere.
