Perfectly Sharp – Exactly What I Needed for My Straight Razor!
The Astra Superior Platinum Double Edge Razor Blades are exactly what I was looking for. They fit perfectly in my cut throat razor and are incredibly sharp, providing a smooth and precise shave every time. I appreciate how well they hold their edge, and they make shaving feel effortless. Whether you’re new to using a straight razor or a seasoned pro, these blades provide the sharpness and reliability needed for a close, comfortable shave. I’ve used other blades before, but these have definitely become my go-to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for high-quality, sharp blades at a great price!

High quality blades at a great price
These blades are excellent—sharp, durable, and deliver a clean, smooth shave. I used them with a traditional straight razor, and they fit perfectly without any issues. The pack includes a large quantity for a very good price, which makes it a great value overall. They’re also easy to use and handle, which adds to the overall experience. Highly recommended for those who use straight razors and want reliable, high-quality blades.

Newer (Indian) astras
Proctor and gamble (the producer of these blades) has moved the production of these from st Petersburg (Russia) to India. I ordered these hoping they’d be the Russian ones, but they were the newer Indian ones. A good, sharp blade, but in my opinion, slightly less comfortable than the Russian ones.

Purchased to go with my new razor........
If you've read my razor review this will make sense. 15 blades (I got 5 with my razor also) a heck of a lot cheaper than my usual razor blades, easy to fit, sharp as, well, a razor and take up a lot less space than my old kit. I used one for my first shave and it was great, for a day my face was as smooth as a baby's bum, aftershave did not sting and the whole experience was great!

last forever and cheap
these last forever and are so cheap. Once you buy a proper safety razor these will last you a lifetime (or a very long time - just buy a whole load) and they're good quality, sharp, durable, easy to use.

Can't get it to work for me
I've read many reviews on Astra blades being great for beginners to start with, for its value and overall sharpness that's not overly aggressive. Personally, having quite sensitive skin, coarse hair but less beard growth, I can't get these blades to work for me. Using a fairly mild razor (Muhle R89), I've always had some kind of nicks with these blades that I somehow don't have with Gillette platinum or Wilkinson sword. Heck, even not with BICs which should be more aggressive. Once again, my personal advice here is to always try these blades before you "invest" into a bigger pack.

I dug out the 60 year old Gilette razor and needed some blades. If you are older than 55, you remember when 'safety razor blades' were how you shaved- and a styptic pencil (and tissue) was always nearby for that expected nick. Those razors gave you a really close shave- that even today's 5 blade razors can't duplicate. So I needed blades for the gilette and chose these. They fit perfectly and the design is old school. The quality appeared good but the test is on your face. I used Castile soap, and it made the blade comfortable to use, and the shave was real close. Be careful; they are SHARP. They are a good value and the performance was excellent. Go slow when you shave- they are SHARP. Got five (5) fine shaves with it before I replaced the blade. Only criticism is that they come in a box and not in a plastic carrier that you can stick the used blades into to dispose of safely. Small thing..but in those old days wher men used a "safety razor" such plastic carriers were the standard. Times change. If you are into a really close shave, with a very SHARP blade, you found it here. Recommended.

Useful, sharp, cost efficient, i dont use them for shaving- just some household stuff, the blades are all the same and the stainless steel is of amazing quality. No complaints here.

i’m still new to the double edge, razor journey. As a newbie, I started using these blades which were recommended by ChatGPT. They’re sharp enough to give a good shave, but not so sharp as to cause necks and cuts (I had this problem with some other more aggressive blades). I bought a bunch of them. They’re inexpensive so you can basically just throw them away after two, three or four shaves without feeling like you’re thrown away a lot of money. These may end up being my ultimate blade. Meanwhile, I continue to try others. By the way, I save every day. I’m spoiled by the multi blade razors and my brawn, electric razor and that I like a really really close shave. I get that with these blades without getting cutting the heck out of myself
