Retinol Rockstar on a Budget: Amazon Basics Serum Shocks My Skin (in a Good Way!)
Let's be real, skincare can drain your wallet faster than a TikTok scroll. So, when I saw this Amazon Basics retinol serum, I was skeptical. Could a budget-friendly bottle really deliver real results? Spoiler alert: YES. This little 1-ounce wonder has become my new skincare BFF.First off, quality? Top-notch. It's fragrance-free (huge plus for sensitive souls) and feels like silk on my skin. No greasy film, just pure, lightweight goodness that absorbs like a dream. And the results? I'm talking smoother, brighter skin, fewer breakouts, and even my stubborn post-acne marks are fading. I'm not saying I woke up with baby skin overnight, but the difference is noticeable and it keeps getting better. For the price, this serum is a steal. It seriously rivals some of the fancy brands I've tried, without the fancy price tag. If you're looking for an effective retinol that won't break the bank, look no further. This Amazon Basics gem is a game-changer. Trust me, your skin will thank you (and your wallet will too!).

Excellent
I really like it. Effective without being too harsh on my skin. My skin looks much brighter and smoother using this. Great savings over branded products

Great First Time Retinol Cream
I've used the other brand it's copied off of before and it works pretty good but I wouldn't say as well as the name brand. If you're on a budget, try using this stuff, otherwise go for the name brand. It's a great introduction to retinol treatment though.

Surprisingly gentle retinol product (for me anyway)
I had a jar of a different brand of retinol, only to find it really irritated my skin. This Amazon Basics brand, on the other hand, really seems to work well and goes on smoothly. Plus, most importantly for me, it hasn't irritated my otherwise sensitive skin. After using it for several weeks, I'm beginning to notice improvements in my skin tone and creases.

A must have for blemishes
Same as cerave but cheaper. Excellent product. I buyvit mainly for my daughter who is a teen. Helps a lot with blemish.

Good moisturizer, questionable retinol content
While this is meant to be a generic version of CeraVe's retinol serum, it really just feels like another moisturizer. It is quite thick and creamy, which is great for moisturizing your skin, but if you're looking for the benefits of a retinol product, you might want to look elsewhere. The bottle is conveniently sized, and the pump works well. If anything, I find a lot of product actually dries up in the pump between uses (even when using daily), so I question how much product is getting wasted as dried clumps that can't be properly used.

Better than brand name!
I had used a retinol product by a big brand that I could find in my local drugstore. I didn't notice any difference, but figured I should use it anyway as I am 48 and have a few wrinkles. When I ran out of that, I looked for an Amazon equivalent and decided to try this. It blew my name brand one out of the water! After consistent use I have noticed a definite improvement in my skin texture and brightness. I use this, just a pea size amount, after cleansing my skin at night and add my night moisturizer over the top. I will continue to use this product!

Not a fan of the texture
Seems okay. One star off for the texture of the lotion. It's like a thick suntan lotion. I liked the CeraVie I was using that went on much lighter, so this might just be personal preference. Otherwise, it goes right on and blends in. I just feel it makes my skin break out a little.
