Measure correctly and it will fit just right
This little brace worked really well for my dog. She’s a small 11 pounder that hurt her ACL. I measured correctly and the brace fit perfectly and help too strengthen her leg so we did not have to have surgery very happy about that

Doesn’t stay in place.
Doesn’t stay up on my dogs back. After 30 seconds it slides down his tail. He’s a 4 year old Staffy with a partial torn CCL, this provided no support. Material is a high quality, and this was well made, and true to size.

Does not stay on
So Bummed it slides off. We put it on tighter it just doesn't stay on. it needs a body harness so you can attach leg strap to it. Please consider this.

GREAT purchase for Luxation Patella / dog
Our dog was diagnosed with Luxation Patella and her little "knee-cap" kept popping out especially while she was playing outside. I ordered this leg sleeve and can't believe how great it helps her. She is 24 pounds with skinny legs and it fits perfectly! She walks sideways at first but has gotten very used to wearing it. I highly recommend this leg sleeve. It's great for playing ball in the yard and has eliminated her knee popping out of place while she's wearing it. It doesn't slide off while wearing/walking. If it moves- we just readjust. If she's wearing a coat- it easily goes over it and doesn't move! This has greatly helped our pup (along with Duralactin Plus) recommended by her Vet.

Helped my dog prior to ACL surgery
My dog (11 year old 70 pound shepherd mix) tore his ACL. We're opting for surgery but need to wait 2-3 weeks. I got this brace to help him get around with less discomfort and wobbling, and to help him pee and poop which he's having trouble with. I got the large size and I have to say the fit is about perfect. I measured per the instructions before buying. His rear hips are a little higher than his front shoulders, which is unusual for a shepherd breed dog (I think he has some boxer and/or retriever), and this helps the cross-strap stay in place. Even so it doesn't stay super well. He only wears the brace for short periods, if he wore it longer i would put a collar or shoulder harness on him and attach the cross strap of the brace to that with string or stretchy material. If your dog's rear end slopes down you're definitely going to need something like this to keep the brace on. The brace is a kind of stiff neoprene material, it reduces the range of motion of his knee which I think is a good thing, but there are no metal or rigid parts to give structural support. I think it is a good temporary solution to help before and maybe after surgery but I don't think it is sturdy enough to replace surgery or be used long term. Just my opinion, I'm not a vet or anything.

Did Not Work For My Pooch After Surgery
Unfortunately, this brace did not work for my dog. I have a Havanese and she has short legs and even though I was able to shorten this by sewing it up to match her knee because she had surgery it kept slipping off her and I don’t think the money was worth any of it. I followed the instructions for measuring her, yet with my veterinarians advice I was able to sew it to fit her leg. But every time she stood up, it slipped off the back I could have braced it more to her neck, but she was already in pain from the surgery so I wasn’t going to do that. Because I had modified it I could not send it back for a refund.

We Avoided Surgery!
My 12-year old Heeler, Amy slipped & suffered what we were told was a torn ACL which would require surgery. I wanted to try this product after reading good things online about it, although our Veterinarian was not supportive of the idea. She said dogs don’t tolerate leg supports well, but we did not find that to be true. Amy is not the type of dog who likes to be handled much but with lots of praise it was no problem to put on. She wore it just a short time the first couple of days & seemed to know immediately it helped her. I now put it on first thing in the morning & she wears it all day. It’s been 3 weeks & she no longer limps & is energetic again. It will hopefully give her support to prevent a re-injury if we can keep her calm. Update: It took several months but Amy seems to have made a full recovery. Her ear position changed & pep in her step came back. Doesn’t need the brace anymore but will use it if walking far. Interesting that recently it’s been found that ACL surgery is not always considered necessary in humans any longer - time heals. Hope this helps!

Don't Do It.
Unfortunately, this Ortocanis Dog Knee Brace did not work for us at all. It was useless—my dog didn’t get any support, and even the vet agreed it wasn’t effective. I ran out of time to return it, but I would not buy this again.

Very happy with this knee brace. My dog (pug breed) has a problem with her knee. This has been so helpful giving her added support when going for walks and for around the house. It really does help her and she walks much better instead of limping. This product is quite pricey but so much better than the cheaper versions on the market. Definitely worth the money, very good quality.
