Making a pen is fun when all the parts are right in front of you
It has a good selection of colors, and it is excellent for beginners to learn the art of turning a wooden pen. All one needs is the capacity to drill 7 mm holes in the block, the equipment to cut the block to the length of the brass tube, good glue, and patience to create your vision of what a pen should feel like

It's not a kit if the thing doesn't come with directions and I should have been told. However, a small business from old Virginia will get 5 stars from this Yankee any day of the week

Be careful putting together
The pen seems very nice as far as looks but the quality needs a little work. When pushing the ends in every one of them gets creased from my press. These are the only ones I've ever had problems with

Bought these for my husband to turn pens on his wood lathe, very easy to put together, love the way they perform as he was turning the top and bottom of the pens. Great price compared to other places we checked, these pen kits look great after turned on the lathe.
