Writing and gel experience is fine. The refills are thicker than normal refills so the refills can stick/jam in the pen.Can be frustrating to get the refills in or out.Added afterwards: Issue resolved well by vendor

Having just bought a bolt-action Smootherpro pen, which did not work, nor did it have any spare refils in the box, (am returning for a refund, unimpressed), I ordered these believing they would fit. They did not. They're a completely different shape. However, having also bought a bolt-action Bastion pen, which writes nicely, these fit it perfectly! So have cancelled the Bastion refil and will keep these for this pen.
