No pics show the handle in the vertical position. So does it lock in the vertical position (for storing) ?

YES it does! Took me a few minutes to get mine out of the stored position! I had to look it over real good before I pulled on it harder because I was afraid something would break! But it did pull down and goes back in stored position now

Wouldn't this jack operate more easily if the handle was as long as competitor's?
