Took the guess work out of finding a key
I bought an antique clock for my husband for Christmas. I didn't pay a lot for it and didn't expect much. It was actually a mix match of a bunch of different clocks and it didn't work. The key that came with the clock didn't even fit the clock, so I bought this Universal Clock Key and sure enough one of them fits perfectly. I'm happy to say, with a little tinkering and the clock key, the clock now works and keeps time well.

The key to keeping your clock wound
I bought this for my Mom who inherited an antique mantle clock that lost it's key. The original one had broken and had been amateurishly and ineffectively soldered back together, nearly impossible to use. I did a little looking on Amazon and found this. Sure enough, one of the prongs fit perfectly. Workmanship is good. Another plus: the extra "spokes" make it easier for her to hold on to the key and to wind the clock.

So happy this worked!
My mom had a clock for years she never had a key for, finally realized we could but this universal kind and sure enough it worked perfectly. Finally got to hear her beautiful clock tick rock and chime. Yay

May be too large fir 90 year old clock
Unfortunately my clock which is 90 years old had wind up holes too small for this to fit. It is sturdy but won’t work for me.

Good, moderate duty keys
Having a range of windup keys is a must if you have a clock with an undocumented key size, or if you're considering clock repair as a hobby. The windup shafts are difficult to measure, and the difference between sizes is small. It would be easy to use the wrong size key if you don't have the full range of sizes at your finger tips. The wrong key size could easily slip and damage the edges of the shaft. I recommend getting both the odd and even sizes, so that you're sure to have the precise size. I can't say how well these keys will hold up under moderate to heavy use, but so far so good.
