Feels better, performs better.
I love this tool! I have been using a Messermeister but I was unhappy with the width of the strips it produced (too narrow). The Crafthouse yields slightly wider strips and has the advantage of feeling better in my hand due to the shape of the handle. I'm able to better keep the blade in contact with the fruit and I get longer strips that I can then cut up for separate drinks. It's a small task that these tools perform but I think this one does it best.

Who cares if it's pretty if it can't give the twist any form?
This review is for the channel knife. The width of the twist *would* be excellent if the angle of the knife would acquire more depth into the peel. You will not get true, drape-worthy twists out of of this knife; none will hold a shape, and are likely to break when you try to twist them. The quality of the strip that comes out of this knife is like a longer "zest" as if you were using a zester to create longer pieces (that usually break). Tried this on three citrus of varying softness: orange, lemon, grapefruit...the knife could not penetrate any of the skins with any depth, even working the knife into the skin with some wiggles. Some design flaws here and I think bartenders would do well to stay away until these problems are fixed at the mold, such that the knife acquires a touch more pith for form. A shame, as it's hard to find a twist that is not too narrow.

a little small
The y-peeler is small and the handle is flat so it's hard to hold. It looks really nice but I've found it hard to use because of that. I also have not found the cutting blade to be that sharp. I think I'm going to buy a different peeler.

Effortless citrus strips!
This product works perfectly with very little effort! It is curved to the hand so you can control it very well while holding any size piece of citrus in your other hand. I’ve included photos of some of the first strips I’ve taken with it and I’m very happy with it. I recommend this product.

Works great! Feels great in the hand!
I am only a lowly home bartender, but this is the best tool I have. It is very specific for its particular purpose, and does it very well. It is very easy to use and grips well in the hand while you make your garnish. Would highly recommend!

Not very sharp
This is only good for scrapings short strips of zest off of fairly soft oranges and lemons. It is not sharp enough from r limes

Nice peeler
I bought this fruit peeler for a friend that he loves Fortessa products, it was part of a set. He loved how easy he could peel the fruit to put it in the drink, and the design is durable.

Waste of money
I’m a professional bartender and this is harder to use than the cheap plastic ones. I tried it on a ripe lemon and a soft lemon and couldn’t get any peel. It’s possible this was defective due to the price of this item being so high. I ended up throwing mine in the trash and switching back to the cheap plastic ones.
