Bristan Orta Chromed Bathroom Basin Sink Monobloc Single Hole Mixer Tap Faucet with Clicker Pop Up Waste (OR BAS C)

Previously, I only bought Grohe taps. They're solid and good. Took a chance and bought this Bristan tap and was amazed. Solid, heavy, beautifully sculptured tap. Water flow is smooth. Fitting is easy. Price is excellent. Bought another one. Superb quality tap that I will buy again as a preference. The click-push pop-up drain is a massive added bonus but as with any of these these click-pop-up-drains, it's the supplied gasket below the basin that is always the problem where leaks occur. idn't even bother to try the supplied Bristan seal. Nowadays, I don't bother with the under-basin seals provided, I simply use a £1.29 "basin-mate" from T00l$tation, which ALWAYS is zero-leak!

Superb tap, very impressed, just like many other reviewers here. It's great looking and very easy to keep clean.One reviewer mentioned a slow flow rate, which is the same thing I experienced - I have low pressure (gravity) hot and high pressure (mains) water feeds. It appears the cold water prevented any hot coming through at all. Previous taps didn't have this problem, and I very nearly sent it back as a result.Anyway, I put in a call to the excellent Bristan helpline, and together we worked out that the nozzle has a built-in 6 ltr/minute flow limiter, which was clearly responsible for this problem, and after a quick search, the representative found an alternative nozzle from a different tap which he sent out immediately and which arrived the next day. Fitted in seconds, and worked perfectly. Top marks.However, I also realised that you can remove the pressure limiter by taking apart the nozzle and removing the small orange rubber diaphragm from inside the plastic filter housing. You'll need to pick out the plastic mesh using a small pin before doing this, remove the diaphragm, and then put the mesh back and finally reassembling the nozzle.

With the restrictor removed from the outlet, this is probably one of the best mixer taps available to use with low pressure/gravity fed water systems. It delivers a decent flow rate, plus the valve operation and the overall look and finish are very good. The unit I received was supplied with flexible connectors, so I had to buy copper pipe tails seperately.

Not just a replacement for a wormn out tap but much of an improvement. Came with a pop up waste so we decided to replace that too, so much tidier than a plug and chain.Great quality, sturdy and stylish. You do get what you pay for and this is definitely worth its price.

Very nice smooth action on the handle and comes with 1 1/2" tail pipes. Waste is easy to install as long as you have the tools and would recommend using a tub of plumbers maite putty to install it with - videos are on youtube.For someone with not a clue on plumbing I managed it ok.

Such a lovely set of taps fitting was easy enough and they worked well for some time but! ....then came the issue with the valve on the hot water tap. The tap started dripping gradually getting worse as the item was under guarantee no problem with getting a replacement valve although getting through to customer services (pre coronavirus lockdown) took time.Replacement valve eventually arrived that's when I discovered how difficult it was to remove the faulty valve it was in so tight! no it could not be removed even trying ways I was advised by a couple of plumbers.So ended up having to replace the whole tap apparently not an uncommon fault with the valve and being in a hard water area made it worse still.
