The screeching and Wailing is no more.....And the tumble dryer is much quieter too!
I have a Indesit tumble dryer that started screaming and screeching like a banshee. Upon 'googling' the awful symptoms that our dryer was displaying. And enduring the excruciating screech for several days. We realised that tumble dryer's 'Teardrop Rear Drum Bearing' had worn away. This was evident by the large amount of black dust that had accumulated at the back of said tumble dryer!Anyway, we read up the instructions on how to remedy the situation. Then quickly purchased this 'tear drop bearing'.So, to cut a long story short, we now have a non screeching tumble dryer...which means a happier home. All for the measly cost of less than a fiver! So, moral of the story is that if you have a tumble dryer that starts wailing, and screeching in the same way ours did. Before calling an engineer out, and being charged the earth. Check at the back of your dryer, that your bearing has not worn out!Simple but very brilliant item ===Thanks for reading ===

Original Bearing from the Manufacturer
This bearing is very genuine. It comes in a sealed indesit/hotpoint pack. It was very easy to replace it, just make sure you add high temp/copper grease before replacing it. Though my dryer's squeaky sound was not caused by this bearing but I still replaced it while I was at it. I realized this after I replaced it and the noise was still there. I then replaced the "water pump condenser unit" bought from amazon for less than £20 and that fixed the noise issue forever. It was very easy to replace the condenser unit from youtube videos on how to replace it.Saved myself £££ from purchasing a new tumble dryer!

my tumble dryer was making horrible squeeking noise
Worked a treat, my tumble dryer was making horrible squeeking noise. Now its not, only took minutes to fix too. Due to the design of the dryer, this part will probably only last a year or 2 if im lucky, but if it goes again its not such a big deal!

This little object saved me a fortune so I have nothing but admiration for it. My tumble dryer developed a horrible squeak so after re-searching the subject on Youtube I found that the problem might be the rear bearing. I pulled the tumble dryer apart and lo and behold the bearing had disintegrated. I ordered the part, it arrived quickly and only took 10 minutes to fit. It has been running smoothly since.I can't quite give it 5 stars because these parts should be cheaper for what they are but the service was good and the part does what it is supposed to do.

Works
If your tumble drier is squeeking (like high-pitched) when rotating, chances are it can be fixed with one of these.Look at the back, and under the plastic cover (if it hasnt melted off anyway) you will see that the pin from the inner drum will have worn its way down through this brass bush. Once it gets to the tin sheet it starts to squeek like crazy.Just undo the one screw holding this brass bush (banjo shaped item) and replace.Squeek gone - Happy wife, Happy dog!
