OUTSTANDING VALUE: Quality Build & Great Price with a Few Minor Considerations
Ignore criticism of the SAPHUE PB Bass Wiring Harness. It's excellent, and at $14, it's a vast improvement on the cheap.* I inherited a 1995 Mexican P-Bass that was gathering dust, and I soon discovered why: the volume put was busted, and wouldn't turn because the plastic housing was damaged. Not much risk for the money, and I figured if it didn't work, I'd just solder in individual pots- a few dollars less, but more labor intensive. However, I was pleasantly surprised and not a little irritated when I received this thing, because it was much beefier than the original...which was the source of the irritation. Why didn't they put OE in like this if it cost so little? Anyway, in I went. Now it's time to check my pics, because the wiring harness switches colors. White grounds connect to black ones, and red hot leads connect to white ones. In other words, you have to follow each wire to make sure you're connecting it where it goes. Again, it's a harness, and most of the wiring is already set up, but there's still too much room for error when colors change. Electricians wouldn't dare switch insulation colors. Again, take a look at my pics. I put a bunch of text on them, and if you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself, installation is a snap. Make sure you have a soldering gun, though, which we fix-it folks usually do. If not, you're gonna need one. The end result was terrific. Everything popped back together, the pots are hefty with a nice bit of resistance to them, and they'll fit pretty much any bass you want. A P-Bass pot's a pot. There's also quite a bit of debate whether to install twin 250k or 500k impedance pots. These guys are 250s and they sound terrific, just like the original P-Bass tone. Of course, if you don't have a 1965 P, don't expect the moon. Short story, these are great, a vast improvement in quality and build over the originals, and I'm pleased with the tone, the affordability, and the ease of installation. Just make sure you get those wires soldered correctly. *Would I use a bass onstage after I'd installed these pots? You bet. They're better than the OE. But it's always good to have another axe around, because you'll probably smash one during the show, Mr. Simonon. However, if you have a fairly pricey instrument that you don't like to tinker with, you can take it to a shop...where they'll probably install the exact same thing. Anyway, this is a really solid product at a terrific price, and it's a fun little project that'll make you feel cool. See you on tour. Z

Easy Install
This works well. I replaced the controls in my Flender Pbass. No scratches, easy fit, just a couple of solder joints necessary. My control knobs fitted easily which made for pretty much a hassle free install.

Big ass pots
These work great, but be aware, they are a lot bigger than the stock squier p bass pots. So big, in fact that they didn't initially fit in the cavity.

Full size pots easy to install. Worth the price.
Full size pots easy to install. The input jack wires were way too long, but easy to change with a soldering iron.

Works, but!
Giving this three stars because it does work but mine came with the capacitor wired incorrectly which was causing a grounding issue. Once I figured that out and got it moved the unit worked great. If you pick this up I would recommend studying the wiring diagram in the pictures of the item listing and making sure yours match before buttoning everything up.

Drop in replacement which worked perfectly.
I have a cheap bass I needed to fix to lend to a friend who wants to learn. The pots on it had gotten damaged somehow in storage so I wanted an easy way to swap out. As near as I can tell this harness kit is 100% identical to the one I removed from an early 2000's Samick Corsair bass. All I had to do was solder the pickups and ground wire to it and then pop them into the pickguard and the bass came right back to life. Is it the highest grade stuff? Certainly doesn't feel that way. Does it work? 100%. Took about 5 minutes to do the swap, most of which was removing pickguard screws.

Squire PBass drop in replacement
Perfect replacement for a Squier Pbass. Dropped in without any issue.

Wiring Diagram Description Wrong. Pots wired in series not in parallel.
It's really a note to the seller. Your wiring diagram between the volume pots is not what is shipped. To be sure there was no mistake I ordered 2x sets. Your diagram shows the volume pots independently wired in parallel. Your product is delivered with the volume pots wired is series. BIG difference in operation. I purchased my copies based on your parallel wiring diagram, not what was delivered twice. I shall proceed to rewire.

Controls on my bass guitar (1980's Kingston Gremlin) were not working anymore. I changed with these components and everything fits very nicely and works very well. Good quality.

I read the reviews and bought this prewired wiring harness for my Jazz bass. The previous reviews are correct, the volume pot yellow wire for the bridge pickup is is in the wrong place. I must be moved to the outside lug #3, and not on the middle lug where the manufacturer has placed it. I am not sure why they did this, but it would not work for my Jazz bass pickups, until I moved it. These are decent pots for the money, no hiss or scratches, nice even roll off for volume and tone. I have included a drawing for a Jazz pickup wiring, so you can see if the wiring on yours is correct or not.
