Q: How is this different from the Kasa kp400 outdoor plug?

Hi! The EP40 & KP400 have different physical housing designs, with the EP40 being a little bit smaller for more flexible deployment.

Q: Does the plug have to hang straight down..Can it be bent so plug outlets are facing up?

The plug should remain facing downward to avoid pooling/flooding the outlets with water if exposed to rain.

Q: Do they offer a smart plug compatible with 5 Ghz internet?

No; current Kasa smart plugs require 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for network connectivity. However, we appreciate your interest in this type of feature, and we will share it with our Kasa team for future consideration.

Q: Does this work with 2.4 Wifi 6 networks?

Hi! The smart plug supports compatibility with encrypted 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router provides an encrypted 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal at the smart plug's location, it should work fine.
