The narration was perfectly cast—Teddy Hamilton, Lucy Rivers, Shane East, JF Harding, Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, and Roxelana Waters completely brought these characters to life. Overall, Insatiable is a powerful tale of passion and revenge, perfect for readers who enjoy exploring the darker side of love. Review: Give me More! - Leigh Rivers Insatiable is a masterclass in dark romance, leaving readers emotionally wrecked and craving more. As the first installment in a gripping series, it delves into the complex interplay of obsession, trauma, and the intense dynamics of a forbidden love affair. The narrative centers around Kade Mitchell, a character who is both haunting and fascinating. His obsessive fixation on Stacey Rhodes is the crux of the story, driving the plot with a magnetic force. Kade is portrayed as a deeply flawed yet compelling figure—a blend of psychotic tendencies and raw emotional depth. His descent into darkness post-breakup and his subsequent entanglements with nefarious elements are portrayed with a palpable sense of dread and inevitability. Rivers does an exceptional job of illustrating Kade's duality: his vulnerable teenage years fraught with anxiety around Stacey contrast starkly with his later, darker self. Stacey Rhodes is equally complex and tragic. Her life has been a relentless battle against abuse and mistrust. Rivers paints a vivid picture of her suffering—caught in a nightmarish cycle with her abusive stepbrother and a father who dismisses her pain. This background sets the stage for her complicated relationship with Kade, a relationship marred by years of separation and mutual trauma. Stacey's struggle to trust and her internal battles are portrayed with sensitivity and depth. Rivers' writing excels in capturing the psychological intensity of the characters’ experiences. The dark romance genre thrives on pushing boundaries, and Insatiable certainly does that. The blend of obsession and trauma is not just a backdrop but a driving force of the narrative, adding layers of tension and suspense that keep readers on edge. Despite the intense and sometimes uncomfortable themes, the book is undeniably compelling. Kade's obsessive nature and Stacey's trauma intertwine in a way that is both disturbing and fascinating. The emotional turmoil experienced by both characters is portrayed with a raw honesty that makes their journey all the more gripping. Insatiable is not an easy read; it challenges readers with its dark themes and complex characters. However, it is precisely these elements that make it so impactful. Rivers has crafted a story that is both unsettling and unforgettable, ensuring that readers will be eager to dive into the next installment. As someone who rated this book four stars, it’s clear that the story’s intensity and emotional depth left a lasting impression. Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster and a narrative that will linger long after the final page.

MY ROMAN EMPIRE. THIS BOOK/SERIES IS EVERYTHING
Where to even start.. I’m obsessed with this series. The character development is so far beyond some of the other dark romance books I have read and it’s far more than “just vibes”. The relationship between Stacey and Kade is heartbreaking yet everything all at once. It’s a testament to how someone’s own trauma can influence decisions that can alter the trajectory of one’s life, and everyone around them, irrevocably and irreversibly. This is a devastating story. This is my Roman Empire. Just do yourself a favor. READ IT. ps. It’s even better if you do the audio book while reading a physical copy. Ooooooo man that audio book, It’s a good one.

Infinite stars!!
I genuinely have no words. I knew the hype surrounding this series was legit, because its Leigh of course, but I was NOT READY. Kade MFing Mitchell. How can a single character be such a raging red flag but also completely irresistible!?! He get it from his DADDYYYY. Unhinged in the most delicious of ways, I am a complete and total puddle for him. My heart is also so broken for him AND Stacey. Not only from everything they lost but the undeniable trauma that they are still continuing to endure. I cannot tell you how many times I cried already reading just this first installment. I hear through the grapevine that it only gets more emotional from here and I am so nervous (in the best way) to see how and why. When I tell you that in Leigh Rivers we trust, this just solidifies that. Now to get into the nitty gritty about this audio. THIS CAST IS EVERYTHING. Top to bottom, front to back they are literal PERFECTION. You can actually FEEL the tension between Stacey and Kade and it is all a testament to the wonderful narration of Lucy and Teddy. East house knocked it out of the park with this production. The question is do I jump into eyeball reading book 2 because I am foaming at the mouth to see what happens or do I wait for the audio to come out to experience it with these wonderful voice actors first? DECISIONS, DECISIONS. Either way? Infinite stars. I need to know what happens STAT and I need more Kade and Stacey. WHAT TO EXPECT: **Dark Romance **Man obsessed **Second chance **Enemies to lovers **Best friend's brother **Touch her and XXX **Morally pitch black MMC **Dual timeline/flashbacks **Secret relationship

CLIFFHANGER CONCERN
Unfortunately, I couldn't give this a 4 or 5. The writing was excellent, story line drew you in, kept you engaged in the book with heat. Clarifying, I intensely dislike cliffhangers and admit this was my own fault for not reviewing before purchase. I rarely read cliffhangers as my humble opinion is the writer isn't secure enough in writing to produce a stand alone book so this is a way to milk the readers for more money. Have to admit have purchased the other two books to complete the series but will not be reading this author again if they continue to be cliffhangers. I could abide by one additional book making it a two book series; but three tells me the author has the inability to wrap it up in two books - yes more money. Sad.

drama, heat and emotional punches
I totally immersed myself in Insatiable — both in audio and on Kindle — and let me tell you, I was not fully prepared for the full cast audiobook experience… but I was absolutely here for it. The multi-voice production added a whole new layer to the characters and really brought the story to life in a way that made me feel like I was right there with them. At its core, Insatiable is a dark, emotional romance about two people trying to find their way through life while grappling with tragic pasts and unhealed wounds. It’s gritty, angst-heavy, and definitely not your typical fluff. The author leans into some dark themes and emotional tension that gives the story weight and complexity beyond the steamy scenes. What I loved most were the characters. I especially loved Teddy Hamilton — he’s a standout presence whose natural bad-boy energy bumped up the edge of our hero, Kade. Kade himself has that rugged, damaged vibe that’s hard not to get sucked into. And Stacey’s journey? It’s raw and real; she’s been through more than your average 21-year-old and it shows in every interaction she has. Stacey is fighting her own inner battles, especially with the trauma left by her stepbrother Chris — a man I literally wanted to arm myself with a pitchfork to take down. Her pull toward Kade — even when she swears she shouldn’t love him — felt messy and human. She’s tough, fragile, and determined not to fall for what’s right in front of her… even though her heart keeps pulling her back. Kade and Stacey’s connection is deeply rooted in their past — childhood love, betrayal, unresolved longing — and their dynamic throughout the book is that classic “will they/won’t they” mixed with second-chance intensity. The chemistry is undeniable, but so are the miscommunications and emotional detours that will frustrate you at times. It gets repetitive in places because the characters circle around their feelings instead of just saying the thing that would end the tension… but honestly, that’s part of what made it feel real to me. There’s a lot going on beyond just the romance — trauma, obsession, psychological depth — and a thread of spiritual and emotional struggle that ties both characters together as they try to make sense of who they are and what they want. The story doesn’t offer neat answers by the end, but it does set up the next book beautifully, leaving you eager for more. Overall, I liked this book. I really liked it. It has drama, heat, emotional punches, and characters you won’t easily forget. If you enjoy dark, character-driven romance with depth and edge, this one is worth the ride. My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Would I recommend it? Yes — especially in audio if you enjoy full-cast performances.

“For the good girls who like to dance in the dark while being watched by the devil.”
🔥 Insatiable (The Edge of Darkness Trilogy #1) by Leigh Rivers 🔥 Dark Romance | Enemies-to-Lovers “For the good girls who like to dance in the dark while being watched by the devil.” That dedication alone had me hooked and this book did. 👀 Kade Mitchell is obsessed with Stacey Rhodes. She’s the girl who shattered his heart, the obsession he can’t quit, the woman he both hates and needs. He’s dangerous, unhinged, and morally black, yet he saves every first for her. Stacey? She’s just as broken, just as fierce, and she refuses to bow to him, even as their chemistry threatens to burn them both alive. 💀 What to expect: ✨ Dark second-chance romance ✨ Enemies-to-lovers tension so sharp it cuts ✨ Possessive, obsessive MMC ✨ A fierce FMC who refuses to break ✨ Morally grey, walking-red-flag vibes ✨ Spice that’s raw, brutal, and unforgettable This book is exactly what I crave in a true dark romance with violent obsession, jagged emotions, and a love story that feels more like a war. Kade is the kind of MMC you should run from in real life but would sell your soul for in fiction. And Stacey? She’s his undoing. If you want a romance that’s bloody, beautiful, and terrifying in all the best ways this one will ruin you. 🖤 #Insatiable #LeighRivers #DarkRomance #EnemiesToLovers #SecondChanceRomance #ObsessedBookBoyfriend #DarkBookTok #WhyWeLoveRedFlags

A must read if you can handle the triggers
📖: Insatiable | Leigh Rivers 📚: Edge of Darkness trilogy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️ Ohhh Kade and Stacey. So jealous of anyone who gets to read this for the first time. I’m not sure if it hurts worse the first time I read it or the second go round knowing the full story. Although it’s been so long since I’ve read it, it’s almost like the best of both worlds. If you don’t like miscommunication I would say skip this one, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice. This isn’t a small miscommunication but one where when your voice is taken away by the people you should be able to trust most why try again. They are both so broken. This book also has flashbacks which I know some people don’t like, but they’re very well placed and timed in the story. This is a forbidden, strangers to enemies to lovers back to enemies, best friend’s twin brother, dark, and twisty romance. It’s a story that sucks you in a breaks your heart. It does end on a cliffhanger but the series is now complete. There’s a reason these books are so hyped.
